GANG, A friend of mine had sleds stolen from Bryant Woods, Atkinson,NH. They where on a trailer in a locked storage area.
Then the MFers went to the house of the owner and broke in, stole the bills of sale and the titles. WTF over. There was no insurance for loss on these sleds that he busted his balls to buy.
Here is the information on the trailer and sleds. If you guys see or hear anything let us know.

Thanks guys,
Mark

I don't know if this is related but my buddy has a towing company and he called me on Friday asking where to find the SN on Sno Pro trailers and that he picked up a trailer with 2 polaris sleds per the Police dept. The Sleds were burnt to the ground and the cover was melted off the trailer. If you want to shoot me a pm I will give you more info. That would make sense if they had no S/N then the PD would have no one to contact.

People are such scumbags. How about this for a novel idea..........WORK for the stuff that you want. Fucking lazy pricks. I wish I could find them for your friend and take care of it myself. Sorry to hear about it. If I hear anything, Ill let you know. Good luck

This sounds funny,
why would anyone steal two sleds and a trailer, only to burn them?

Your report has been fowarded to the owner of the stolen sleds. I'll post the outcome tomorrow.
Thanks 711 Sno Pro !!!!!!

I wish I could answer that but I don't have the mind of a thief. Anyways I just know thats what the police dept. called my buddy for and I have not personally seen the sleds but was told about it.

Ah, possible burn for the insurance money. Either way, theft is serious business these days and bad business at that. We all pay.

Well I sure as hell wouldnt burn my sleds if I had no insurance on them. That was stated in the 1st post that there was no insurance. Man I hate dirtbags that steal stuff because I know that I work damn hard for the stuff that I have.
Looneytuned6.0
Yea something doesn't add up, you mean to tell me someone went and stole 2 sleds a snowmobile trailer and then went into the house and took the registrations and the bill of sale and/or title........they should rob a bank next if they pulled this one off and go buy a shit load of lottery tickets with that luck.
what?trail?
kinda sucks for the people that legitamitly get their stuff stolen .... something very important is missing from this story ... sounds like fraud of some sort

steal 2 sleds and trailer from said "storage" area .... break into house at different location..(maybe steal diamond ring?) .... and paperwork and all this to risk getting caught towing them away just to burn them... ya right
what?trail?

for loss it said? ... maybe there was fire ? hmmmmmm
NHsledhead1
I do not think the sleds stolen which began this thread are the same ones the cops found torched. As I read this, I read it that way. I am saying the burned sleds may be an insurance job, especially if they are different from the sleds stolen from Bryant Woods, especially seeing these are uninsured. dunno.gif Can someone clarify?

Fire and theft usually go together.
who knows why someone whould do that, who knows if they are the same sledds.
whtmtn
O.K. Gang here's the straight info.
Because of HCSers the owner was able to help get info to the authorites and also find out what happened to his sleds.
The owner had NO INSURANCE FOR FIRE OR THEFT ON THE SLEDS OR THE TRAILER. It is a total loss for him unless the perps can be found and held accountable.
The titles and bill of sale was on his workbench in his garage which was broken into over the past couple of weeks. He really didn't notice he had been broken into because he didn't notice anything missing. The owner says they got lucky if they broke in for those items because he had them right there.
After the sleds where stolen then things started to come together and he noticed things that made him realize that his garage had been broken into. The trailer and sleds where in an outside locked storage facility with two locks on the hitch. All the locks had been broken and pieces where laying on the ground.
A fire which was two snowmobiles and a trailer had been reported burning at a home in Raymond, NH. Looks like a total loss. Numbers if available have to be matched up but looks to be his stuff.

Why did they burn the sleds and the trailer??? Who knows. We are thinking they fought over the booty probabley whether to sell or keep them or who was going to get what or something.

Anyway my buddy hopes to be able to see the sleds and trailer soon to confirm. He's really bummed. Saved for those sleds and paid cash.
Mainecat
Thanks for the info but it still seems to be an inside job. Something is fishy. I am very familiar with that area as I live close. Breakins are "very" rare if at all. If I recall the storage area is lit at night and is in a area that is very visible.
If the sleds were just stolen that happens but the home breakin with only the titles stolen seems fishy.

In any case it sucks and whoever owned the house where they were burning in Raymond should be hung by the testicles.
whtmtn
My buddy said that the Bryant Woods storage area had never been broken into before. He also said that a construction outfit has been using that storage area over the last few months. Who knows???

Even if they find the person (or persons) who stole the sleds & trailer...there is no guarantee that any re-imbursement will be paid! Even if you "win" the battle with the police and the courts...reimbursement is painfully slow...can take years and sometimes never be fully paid off. When the guilty party or parties get out of the slammer and stop paying reimbursement you have to take them back to court to garnish their wages...if they have a job!

The bottom line is...insure yourself against losses you can't afford to take!
HONDAFIXER
Doesn't make any sense to me. In NH you do not need nor do they issue titles for sleds. Possession is all it takes to prove ownership. Something sounds fishy
Pooge
Yah, I dont like the way this sounds. Maybe this guy has someone with a grudge against him? :frech32:

Personally, nothing against your buddy, but people don't just steal 550 (fancooled?) sleds.... not a big ticket item... Sounds like someone had it out for your buddy...

On another note, I know there is no insurance law here, but damn dood, you NEVER see my sleds out of the garage without full coverage on them....and when they are in the garage, they have comp. on them..... Seems silly not to, and here is a perfect example of why....if he had bought these cash, what is $50 a month durring the winter (at the VERY MOST) to insure those two sleds?

I'm sorry to hear about more sleds being stolen, but I dont really feel sorry for him, not having insurance on something that was stored outside of his house in a public area.... THough I do hope he finds them and they are not the burnt ones...

I have worked with some insurance company's before. Almost 100% of the time fire claims on Vehicle's are someone trying to commit Fraud. They insurance/police investigate these fully. This whole deal is funny and something doesnt add up. Only thing that would fill this is in would be that He found out after the fact that his homeowners/Storage area wouldnt cover the thefts.

It may not add up but it does not sound like fraud to me. Who is he going to defraud?
Idiot thiefs may have burned them by doing stupid stuff? The truth will come out, I hope we hear what happened.

Your right they have been roofers working for a few months.
Its just such a secure area with zero crime.

O.K.
I have to say thanks for the interest on this subject but WTF. "somethings fishy, inside job, fraud job." etc. Wow. No one believes anyone anymore.

Well here's more info. The stuff was found burnt next to a residents trailer at a trailer park in Raymond. The police have a suspect or suspects (no details). Not sure why the sleds were burned. Thinking they were working on them when they caught fire. Not much left of them or the trailer.

Police say it will take along time to get any restitution from the perps if convicted.

Might own some money to someone? Does someone's husband have a grudge? Good way to get back at a guy f*%^ing his wife wouldn't it.
futhur
It sounds like this guy was ripped off by idiots and they were so incompetent that they set their new found booty on fire in their drive way. Now for some reason everyone thinks that this guy had something to do with it? :banghead: :banghead: WTF !? cut the guy some slack, it was said there was no coverage on this stuff. I hope he gets some kind of justice out of this.
PowderDreams583
That just sucks, the whole situation.

I hope they find justice and the owner ends up with reimbursment for his hard earned cash!

Easy buddy, I'm just throwing out there something that no one else had mentioned. It's obvious that he didn't burn his own sleds, since he has no insurance... unless he's a complete moron...which is highly unlikely.

A regular snowmobile thief goes after the "hot sleds" Rev's, 4-stroke Yamies, Brand new 600-800 L/C machines etc. They are not going to target a set of 550 classics that are 5 years old. That's just not the kind of sled that is usually stolen. Sure, It's possible, but unlikely.

Now, addressing the fact that his paperwork was stolen as well: They HAD to have known him. Unless he had his address written on his trailer, they would have no way of knowing where the guy lived if it was stolen from a storage facility.

Sure, maybe they tailed him when he dropped them off, but thats FAR TOO MUCH work to put into stealing a couple fan cooled 5 year old sleds.

I honostly believe that, with the info given, that whoever stole these and broke into his house knew him. They would have had to know where he lived for God's sake. THEN a "normal" theif would make sure to snag some more booty while he was there.

It just does not make sense as a random crime with the info given. I would recomend he looks at who he knows or who might have beef with him. I'm in no way accusing him, cause that would just be stupid, but this seems far from random.

From what I understand the registrations were in the sleds which would have the owners address.

hahaha...ok that makes sense... thats why I keep mine in my snowmobile jacket.

still sounds pretty strange.
Sno-ProF5
maybe they broke into the house first
found the registrations

then stole the sleds with no snow in sight the sleds were useless to them

and they said f-it lets have a BBQ

unless he is trying to get his homeowners to cover it

being that his house was robbed and he was in a locked facility
yamahasledder
OK extremely nervous considering i live about 2 miles from Bryant Woods in Atkinson! dunno.gif

I have over 20,000 in sleds anything i can do to prevent this sort of thing from happening to me?

All the sleds are now in the garage! but trailer still out side!

Sno-ProF5

and the atkinson cops seem to be useless

every time i see them they are either on the cell phone or pulling over an old lady on main st

anyway

my friend who is on east road keeps all his stuff locked up tight too

How would the thief/thieves know where the owner was unless they had some connections with the owner or possibly the DMV to get the owners address? Another fact I’d like to point out is that they obviously new the person wasn’t home and they only stole the titles/BOS? Sounds awfully fishy to me…

any pics of the bbqed polaris's

I want to ask? haveing them in a storage yard were the covered? I havent seen that asked yet!

Hey SnoPro5, You're the one that lives on the right on 121 if you were going towards the post office and the dive shop?.....If you are, jesus christ man you should start your own dealership out there, I always look to see what you have for sale...ahaha
