Old beast eltigre 6000, think it’s a 84. It has a 500 liquid and I need to know what the normal operating temperature range is. The gauge does not work and cat wants 180.00 for a gauge. Too much for an old beater. I want to put a regular temp gauge in it but I don't know what it should run at. If anyone has an idea please let me know.

I cant tell you the operatoring temp but if you have the mechanical gauge that threads into you water manifold and is about 22 inches long I have one.I tested it with a small; amount of heat and it works fine.Let me know if you are interested and I will forward you a pic or 2
