Hey Polaris guys I need your help for my dad. He rides a 2000 summit 700 but it has 9000 km's on it (original motor) and I am trying to get him to buy a new sled and where he lives they have ski-doo and polaris and well frankly i hate rev's and the line polaris has is very good this year. I ride a cat and he likes it but no cat dealer where he lives not even close. So he is 52 and he does alot of lake riding and there is usually alot of slush. He almost never rides traisl and he brakes trails alot where he lives to go ice fishing. Would the switchback be the best bet for him. I need feedback and pro's and con's for handling and power rise. Looking to get a 700 probably so he doesn't get stuck in slush like he did today with almost everybody except the CAT he he.

Any info would help he wil be looking at a new one tomorrow i think and i will be there with him. How are the new 700 engine wise any issues so far since it's the first year of production?

Thanks boys

No 700 Switchbacks ,never built any, 600 comes in both EFI and carb versions. Both are good ,carbs are cheaper. You can buy [if you could find one] a 700RMK

A switchback would fit the bill for his needs, get a leftover 900, or the FST if you think the 600 engine doen't have the "Nuts" for him.

this 600 engine is beating-up on some of the 2005 900's out there.

I will never go back to a 121" track ever again. This 144" handles excellent on the trails. the only time I notice how long this thing is? backing it into the garage. otherwise you would think you were on a 121"
