Looking for help with suspension adjustments to improve steering on a 2004 skandic super wide track. Machine has studs i do not know exact number but the is two studs per pitch or window of the track. skis are steel with a wide plastic ski skin mounted to the steel ski using wear bar and other fasteners. 6" carbide wear bars. rear spring cam is on the most stiff setting for handling weight of 4 x 8 mogual master drag, front limiter strap is asdjusted all the way up. and there seems to be no adjustment at the skis. i have no operator manual for reference. any info for improved steering would be helpful.
I seem to remember our club President who grooms with a SWT mention something about some plates to go in the suspension. These plates must do something to change the geometry of the suspension. Not sure what they do but I will ask him when I speak to him again.
I did get a chance to find out about the plates that I mentioned in my prior post. I was told that the plates lock the articulating suspension on the SWT. This does help create more ski pressure.

I agree, and the plates you refer to are probably the "horseshoe washers" mentioned in the BRP owners manual.
You want to push the rear articulating portion of the rear suspension down as much as possible to keep the front of the sled planted. You can do this by redistributing the washers in the rear suspension at the pivot point of the rear section.

we put the rear springs on the stiffest setting crank down the front limiter straps and run 10" carbides it's like riding a brick but it's all about being able to steer
