Hey guys, I'm trying to install reverse on my Dad's 2000 ZR6. The chain is too tight to go around the gears. The instructions say to remove the secondary & bearing to give the shaft some free play to slide everything together in the chaincase. I tried that, it didn't work.

Here's the kicker - I bought the kit from Browns Leisure a year ago & just got around to the install this week. I've recently discovered that they sent me the kit for a 2001 ZR6. I'm trying to install on a 2000 ZR6. What is the difference between the two kits? Whats the dif. between the stock '00 ZR6 & the '01 ZR6 chaincase? Will this kit still work?

I tried calling Browns but they're not open. I'm hoping that the '01 kit replaced the '00 kit.

More info is needed before help can be given.Manual tightener versus auto,what gears you have and what length of chain.I installed a kit for a 2000 powder special on my 03 ZR 900 last year with no issues other than gear ratios.Sounds like you have the wrong chain for your gears
