I got a shovel from arctic cat to put under the seat of my crossfire. I can't get it to fit. Has any one got this to fit? If so can you send me a picture? Thanks
CATBOY09
those seats have room for a shovel underneath didnt know that
dt6957
I didn't know that either???

I will have to take a look!!

I beleive it was advertised as a feature on the crossfire but it doesn't seem to exist. Must be like the sparkplug holder on the 03 firecat.

When I'm not riding in the mts, I put my shovel under my seat. Pull the seat off and you'll see the notches that they added for the shovel to slide into. I also put my handle in there off to the side. If your riding in the mts be sure and ride with your shovel, probe, and beacon in your backpack. The shovel does you no good if its in your sled rolling down the side of a mt.

Not sure about the 07 XFire's, but on the '06:

- Open the flap on the back of the seat. You'll see a brass colored clip on either side of the seat inside the opening. Push the clips in at the same time and pull the seat up and back and its off. Now flip it over and you'll see the shovel holder built into the bottom of the seat. Slide the shovel into the bracket to see how it fits.

thats funny. i took the seat off the other night to install some tunnel protectors and didnt even look at the underside of my seat. will have to check that out.

Get used to removing the seat because that is where the tool kit is at.

My tool kit is held with a velcro strap on top of the footwell above the brake. Came from factory like that. Someone musta stuck it under there on ya, unless the early builds came like that, if thats what you have.

It's not an early build.(verified from factory) The kit may have been moved on Crossfires in 07. It has the velcro holder right under the center of the seat. I ride with two twin spar riders and theirs are both in the footwell. Theirs are electric start mine is not.
arustadxf7
The summer builds for 06 had the tool pouch under the hood above the brake. Early builds had the tools in the seat.

The EB's tool kits are located under the hood by the brake.

Mine's a verified summer build not EB and mines under the hood by the brake. I think being cat they just randomly selected spots to put the kit and it's not even following a set pattern :celebrating:

All '06 tool kits are under the hood.

SP8 - I have a True North shovel also and couldn't seem to get it to fit. Which one do you have and do you have a pic of it.
SP8
Not sure which shovel. I will get a pic once I get my sled back, which should be Thursday.
GuyFromTheNorth
I was curious to check out under the seat of my XF for these clips, as well I think I need to remove the seat to install my sleigh hitch. Is this an easy job or is there some secret to popping it off?
mkehler
nothing to it just turn the platic stops out and pinch the clips in should lift right off, good front of the seat good for belt storage
NDMtnSledder
I think only some of the smaller size shovels fit as it was meant for an SOS shovel that is in the AC accessories book and that SOS shovel is quite a bit smaller then like the Viole, BCA, Lifelink, ect shovels.
arctic cat racer

Arctic Cat Racer: Do you see the two brass clips on either side; when you open you pouch on the back of the seat you will see them. Pull them towards you and pull the seat back and up. Presto, it is off. You might have a plastic retainer that you have to slide off to one side before you pull the clip; the EB's didn't have them.

Some people say that there are some larger shovels out there that are hard to fit under the seat, mine slides right in. Then, I shove the handle to the side of it. The only time I put a shovel under my seat is when I riding small hills and flatter land. When I'm in the mts, its always in my backpack!
