sxviper 1+2=3 cylinders
i've done the trip twice, and if memory serves me correct you'll be fine if you can get 70 miles out of the sled.
ct_skidoo2
You can top off at Jenks if you want after leaving woodford and then keep heading north. I can get about 110 miles + on my GTX unless I am really on the throttle. I don't like to take it to that extreme end of the mileage though.

not sure trail right now, away from my map. but the pledge is up front, as much as you can raise with a minimum contribution of $150-- it isn ot based on mileage. money is due when you arrive at the start location. riding at your speed you're looking at 12-14 hours.

what was your time frame ? ave. speed ? riding partners ,raely just looking for as much info. as pos.

i answered the other questions in your pm... i also don't bother with finding a riding partner. there are plenty of people behind you if you should break down (happened to me the first trip). solo allows riding at your own pace with stops whenever ya want!

START TIME GOT CHANGED TO 3 AM.

Hope the snow adds up over the next two weeks...
sxviper 1+2=3 cylinders
there are no rideable trails right now in the souther part of the state, correct? is there any snow down there at all?
GaderX
brad i might be tagging along with you and dgree if you dont mind...

Gader
I'll take up the back. I just PM Brad, he seems a little skeptical about being enough snow. The way the weather pattern looks right now its only a matter of time before we get nailed with a nor easter.....
weatherman
I'm signed up for the ride too, and I think our only chance at this thing happening, is the storm that comes in at the end of the month, and that is too far away to bank on.....

yeh... i just don't want to inflict a bunch of damage to my sled is all... but i suppose i'll be ok with marginal snow in the south.

you oughtta join in with the rest of us. with degree's son that would make 5.... which is a good sized riding group.

how many of you will be waiting for gas at the reccomended stop (30-40 miles into the ride i think?)? if we can get to the line early and be in the top tier of sleds, they typically have free gas at 20-mile-stream, a 100 gallon tank or so. first come first serve. it's about 50 miles into the trip.

Really free gas, hmm. Wonder how'll they will feel when we pull up with 3 gallon spare gas tanks strapped to the back? Hope we make it to the front of line.

yeh, gader already lost part of his front end, and damn, those yammy trailing arms are expensive!
dgree
I heard about gader, thats what low snow conditions will do. So I'll be out there tomorrow...hahaha
GaderX

I appreciate the invite. I have a couple guys that are talking big about going, but they haven't asked Tom to mail them the kit yet...so we'll see. I just might end up at the back of your pack.

i would doubt very much that the ride will happen
at least not on the 3rd

unless vt gets a couple of state wide storms, in the next week or so
ct_skidoo2
Some talk of a major nor easter end of next week --- too far away for me to believe it yet.
weatherman
The models are showing decent chances of storms on the 25th and the 30th. I'm not saying they will happen, but they are on the models atleast.

I'm not really a weatherman, I just play one on HCS.
ct_skidoo2
That works for me. My new Blizzard trailer is being built and should be ready end of next week. Can't wait to have it unload at Woodford! thumbsup.png
