So after I got my almost 100 miles before all the snow melted :banghead: But I noticed what seemed to be like a burt belt smell, right before I put it away. Before that trip I just installed a torque arm setup to help out, because I do have a lot of extra parts on my sled. So when I got the sled home, I took a look at it. So my new torque arm is cracked in half and I also broke at least one motor mount. Now I know when I installed the torque arm that all my motor mounts were brand new. Now my suspension wasnt all set up and I was getting crazy ski lift all weekend. I bought the sled from a guy who weighted 150 lbs wet and I weight 210. So I think that all the ski lift, and I fact that I raced my buddy on his MXZ a few times might have snapped them both. But has anyone else broke both a Torque arm and a motor mount? What can I do to prevent this from happening? I dont want to run racing mounts cause I dont want to get any vibrations. But I dont want to deal with this all season. I want to fix it and fix it right so It doesnt happen again. Any help? :beerchug:

I don't have any answer for you. But yes i broke both last year. I ride an 05 800 xc, slp pipe and can, flow rites and slp air box. Rip saw track v-force reeds. She is a torque monster. My fix was easy. WARRANTY
I just hope it holds up this year i added 144 picks.

When you installed torque arm did you bring it up just snug. Maybe you had to much torque on it just a thought. The broke motor mount at the same time is odd. I made my own torque arm works great motor hardly moves. Great investment

No I snugged it up. I didnt want to wrench on it too hard to make it snap. Thats what the directions said anyways, was to snug. Thats what I thought too that it was pretty odd dunno.gif More great news the performance shop that I got the torque arm from, got it from a distributor, and they got it from the manufaturer. Now I am playing who's gunna warrenty the part. dunno.gif I must have made a bunch of phone calls today, with people that are suppose to call me back. Damn. :banghead: I hate it. I was also looking at Dura 90 mounts. Are they like race mounts or are they between race mounts and stock mounts? Thanks everyone for you input. :beerchug:

In the last few days I have read several posts concerning duro 90 mounts. Several people have had them break as well. I don't think those are the answer. My $.02.

Don't waste your money on the 90 durometer mounts. I broke 2 of them just installing them. They are junk IMO.

Does anyone have any other suggestions? dunno.gif Its hard to believe that there is no fix for this. :banghead: I dont want to go though this all season long. And as of right now, untill I get a call back, I am out a torque arm which really sucks wtf.gif By the way, anyone down in the Flint, Mi area dont order anything from MCB performance in Capac. They dont stand behind any of their products and their service really sucks. bigun2.gif

maybe you have to many attachements?, klick on manage your attachements in your control window and check.. get a pixbox and post from there instead, much easier and you could upload by the hundreds if ya want... :cn:

I snapped my slp torque arm also, Get a tougher heim joint. I've also broke alot of mounts and broke the left motor strap. The mounts won't hold up without the torque arm, I'm sure yours broke right after your arm broke. I've added the 90 mounts, torque arm with a different stronger heim joint, and a push arm. I haven't had any issues since, but really have not been able to beat on it much. You have to keep an eye on your torque arm once it goes so do the mounts. I've also lost one of the bolts that bolt the t. arm bracket on.

good luck.

Yeah that is where is snapped the torque arm was the Heim joint. Where can I get a tougher one? With the 90 mounts do you still get vibrations? I think I am gunna get the push arm to help out anyways. Like I said I hope to fix this and fix it so I can ride and not worry about beatin on it.

I had the same problem last year.Snapped the heim joint in half.Someone on this forum directed me to Mcmaster supply. They sell heim joints tough enough to hold a mack truck, anything you could want and more..And there fairly inexpensive too...

The problem is the vibrations from the 700/800 motors. When you preload the torque arm, it just makes it worse. My buddy has been running the $15 Polaris torque arm for two years now on his modded 700 with no issues. Also, the torque arm has to go on correctly. The mounting point on the engine needs to be higher than the bulkhead mount. I think mine was installed about 3/4" higher. It helps keep the front mount from being pulled up. I live near Flint and occasionally go to MCB, but I know what you're talking about. Its usually when I'm in a bind and need a part ASAP.

Preloading a torque arm also runs the risk of transmitting vibration to the chassis and having crack develop on the bulkhead.

I ordered two from Mcmasters haven't needed the second one yet. The sled vibrates but I don't notice it either I'm used to it or just don't care. I'd rather have the sled vibrate than have the motor bouncing around grenading belts.

Yeah I have also heard a lot of bad things about the duro 90 mounts breaking. I think I am gunna get that stronger heim joint and a push arm and replace those mounts and see where I am at. It sound like if the heim joint holds up, so should the mounts. Hopefully I am right.
