Hello, Excellent site. This is my first post on here. I just bought an 04 440 pro xr. I have been reading and searching about this sled for a few months and finnaly bought one. Brought it home yesterday and tore it all down. My question is can i run an oil pump from the high speed shaft or will that push to much oil? The crank and bearing are in excellent shape so i don't want to spend the cash on re gearing it or replacing it if i don't have to. Anybody got an 02 crank just laying around they want to get ride of?

I bought this sled for my 14 year old son and I can't wait to ride this thing. WE took it for a short rip thru the yard yesterday with low comp. heads and she rocks. We just got ride of his 03 pro x fan. What a difference. We plan to race it a few times this year and also trail ride it some. If all goes well we want to run the whole RMR program next season on a new sled. But i think we will be keeping this sled for a long time. I fell in love at first site when this sled came out.

Yes you can remove block off plate and bolt a small block oil pump on there. You will need a throttle cable from an '01 pro x 440 to operate pump. Also on '04 motors need to tear it down and have case drilled for oil line fitting.

PM fastrider on here...I helped him oil inject his '04 440. :div20:

I am hoping you ordered the late model HO oil pump. The earlier pump will work but will pump extra oil unless it is adjusted accordingly.

Good Luck

I ordered part # 2520505. I hope that is the right one. My dealer is no help, I have to supply them the part numbers. I just got all the parts today. I see that the check valve just press's in. Maybe a tapper? i also am going to change the grease fitting (plug) and inject that also.
QUESTION: Do i still drill the inside of the case as i was going to if a left it pre mix? Or will just drilling the injection check valve be all i need to drill? Thanks for the help. I will take pictures as i do the injection up grade. Won't be till next week, Dang x-mas is in the way. LOL just kidding. Gotta do the wife & family thing.

That injection valve will be good, all I have on mine and she runs awesome. That part number sounds just like the one akiq gave me so I beleive you got the correct one.
