My kid just picked up a 98 Summit X, how high of a riser will it accept without extending any cables??
Joe??

Thanx

I put a 4 inch articulating riser on my 1996 with no cable mods, might be able to get 4.5". If you just use a block you might be able to get 3". Just pull the bars off hold them up where you still have some movement for turning and measure how high you can go. I did re-route my cables for a little extra length. I got the Sportech 4" ABR from Ak Mining, They have others. Expect to pay around $100. If you don't get the Sportech, you will have to buy an adapter to convert to an adjustable base and get like a 3" riser, the adapter adds @ 1" for a total of 4" :div20:

Is an articulating riser worth the extra $, instead of just a block? I havn't seen the sled yet to play around with it. I had a 97 583 summit years ago and it was a pretty nice sled (when it started...). That 97 seemed to trench, do you know if they improved it's performance on the X. The HP looks good on that 670, and the kid only weighs in at 140. He should have a blast on it once he figures out the starting routine.

The articulating moves the bars up and forward, I liked it. I loosened my limiter strap at the front of the suspension and it seemed to help the trenching, oh and I added ski pressure. I think the X is just differnt shocks dunno.gif
but I bet he will love the sled, my 670 had plenty of power, and I weight a bit more than 140 :beerchug:
