Old Cat Man and La Cat----Nice!!! Reports.....Great to hear you guys are delighted!!!! with yournew Z1s. I have been considering upgrading from my 2004 F7 Ext which I like for its 40 to 80 mph 200 to 300 miles per day. I have been concerned for the RydeFX shocks and short track.....still like to go off track a little. So would you mind giving a little more feedback;
How fast were you driving most of your trip?
How did it handle in the woods-twisties at 40 mph?
Was it tiring driving hard?
How did the weight feel?
Did it push comming hard into corners?
Could you slide it breaking out of corners?
How did acelleration feel?
Any noticeable fade in the shocks after 200mi
Were the trails choppy---how did it feel
Any G Bumps---did it bottom
Thanks---sorry for the many questions.....at 63 I want to be sure I don't get a heavy beast which I thought my previous ZR900 was a little heavy for fast woods riding above 40mph......Thanks again Mooselook
Ok, Moose lets see how I can do here.
I say most of our trip was too fast for break in haha, 40- 60
Handleing was good but those stock carbides always suck but I didn't want to put on the new ones until after that stoneing trails, that will help just like other Cat sleds.
Very easy to drive and when my legs got tired late in the day I just put the seat way up and I felt ready to go more.
I felt a little heavy but not much very stable! Even both of my friends that drove it said the same STABLE sled, and they have new Xfires.
Very little sliding, I have 120 studs on it.
It kept right up with the Xfire 6 off the line and then about 60 it seem to pull a little better that the 6, IMO. But, we were all breaking in new sleds so we'll see later this winter, but I'm happy with it. It pulls different then a two stroke but when you loo at speedo you are surprised.
Shocks were great, I was able to get the ACT ones, but I bet the Ryde would be good also.
And I was surprise, it didn't bottom out once!
Most trails were pretty good, I think you would be very happy with this sled!
Good Luck,
Frank
