Hi guys, I got a 14 and 10 year old that want to go solo this year. Whats the rules on ages etc. thx.

Your 10 year old is to young to ride solo by law in vt. Law states you must be at least 12 years of age to operate a snowmobile in the state of vt, and if under 16 years, you must be in direct supervision of someone at least 18 years of age. If you are under 12 years of age you may operate a snowmobile on land owned by your parents, family, or with written permission of the land owner.

I believe the law states that your kids can be 8 yrs old to ride....but they must be under direct supervision/control of thier parents. They can ride on the trail system but they can not cross highways or ride along roads on thier own. Once they reach 12 (or turn 12 within the open season Dec. 15 to April 15)...they are required to pass the Safety Course. :div20:
