Does anyone have info on this kit? I did a search and could not find anything. It seems like a pretty cheap upgrade if it works, From my understanding it does not come with a helix? What type of gains would be expected? Also does it use the stock belt?

Thanks :beerchug:
cmscat50
Pretty sure it's just big dog weights and a new primary spring. Stock belt.

Whats the price ???

Goodwin performance is around 140$ - Weights and both springs - Stock helix - 036 belt

Still dont know what i want to do yet

Ultimax XS801 belt and clutch from there or keep the 036 belt and buy someones kit

This thing flys 0 - 90 on groomed trails this weekend - Couldnt get it over 95 though on long runs
After break - in , around 200 miles

Forgot my damn spring adjuster at home :banghead:

Way over revving on rpms - Around 8050 on long runs

Chris any testing yet with those belts ???
Damn warm weather - Glad i went this weekend :div20:

Scott, I think the D&D kit is about $110...on their site.

How the heck am I supposed to test anything in an arm cast and back brace?? Ha ha. I a jealous bastard.

I'm more and more thinking a kit. I just don't want to spend time tuning after I'm able to ride again....want to RIDE!

I'm looking at a Big Dog setup with the new Carlisle belt....doing some digging on that. About 65 grams is what we need...maybe a hair more.
F7~NF(SP)
Yep its $113.05 with the 5% discount for ordering online!

I think mine runs well, I was getting 105,106 pretty consistently at the end of last year across a lake. It has 500 miles on it so far, and pulls hard to 90 as well! but always room for improvement. And I don't think clutch kits should affect top speed, just how you get there? dunno.gif

Some info i got over at Arcticchat.com on a similiar thread
036 belt

1.Just an educated guess based on info from the summer....things may have changed since then.

Red primary, Tan secondary, 73g Bulldogs.

2.i think its a orange spring 73 big dogs
most kits dont come with a helix and dd only has one cdd75 i talked to dale about
the x-fire im doing and he said 73 dogs orange pri mar secondary spring and the helix this is allmost the same setup that i have in my 05 f7 with 60/60 and that thing rocks DD is also running the f1000 belt on the 700 x-fire to

3.D&D set me up good....When I got my pipe and y-pipe, I got the cdd 75 red/tan w/73 dogs...this was getting me 110 mph @ 8250 rpm (I know my tope end is rich, haven't installed the bd box) so I installed my stock$ 75g and got 110-112 @ 8100 rpm. Prefect Condidtions, super hard pack on the sea ice, elevation -20 on gps (low tide), -25 C, very long streach

Both set ups pulled 0-100 fast maintaining about 7600-7800 rpm.

Goodwin on there 05 F7 uses oem arctic cat weights - 77gram
Purple primary and Dark Blue/Red secondary spring with 50/38 helix

With the 06 F7 and 06 Crossfire 7 Goodwin clutch kit - They use factory helixs because the F series changed to the one piece design while the Crossfire still utilized the end cap and 10" secondary - Is the same kit for both sleds when i was looking at the Milwaukee show - Weights and springs only

I would like to try oem weights at 77grams - Cats orange/white primary spring
Cats new orange secondary spring and factory helix
Would be a cheap kit with the 036 belt

There all trying to do the same thing - Lots of spring weight to grab that 036 belt and keep it from slipping at high rpms

But like Chris mentioned if you want to go to a softer belt , that changes everything
cmscat50
Pretty sure the key is going to be a softer belt. If you want top end speed. Mine ran about 95 last year in 50 degree weather and slush so who knows....with 036 that was.
Workaholic
i run the same as Grizz. 044 belt. I love it. Now i added a d&d y-pipe, removed my mbrp silender (was losing rom with it) and installed a Sno-Stuff rumble pack. Along with a Fett Bros Billet Adjuster (yet to install)

I am running stock clutching. I think i might try the 73 big dogs with orange primary. with 044 belt. see what happens.
F7~NF(SP)
What kind of setup would be needed to change to the 044 belt? Is it the same length as 036?
cmscat50
044 is 5/15 shorter and 1/32 wider. Just have to change deflection. Holeshot might not be as good depending on traction as the clutch won't "slap" the belt as hard. Smoother engagement with 044.
F7~NF(SP)
Well I'm still leaning towards the D&D kit, but the one bee mentioned at the bottom of his post for 036 might be a good option aswell.

I don't really want to get into changing to a different belt because I already have two 036's, and I think my top speed right now is pretty respectable. What more could you possibly get with the 60-60 gears?
grizzrock_X7
Well, I was having great top speed luck with the 044 last year, but I cant seem to get more than 90-92 so far this year. My primary has marks up to about 3/4 to 1 inch down from the top, so I am getting NO full shift, and definalty NO overdrive. I was playing with deflection a bit, so maybe thats it, dont know?.... but I am starting to buy into the therory that the stock setup wont be very consistant. It seems that depending on conditions the sled will pull far over 100mph, and other conditions under 95...all with the same setup. Conditions are always a factor with any sled, but they seem to effect my X7's stock clutches tremendously. I have not decided what direction to go in...belts, kits, custom.... But when I do figure anything out, i will share.
bee1971
I should add that i also ordered two of those D@D shift assist bearings for the secondary clutch on both my Crossfires

Its been awhile since i ordered , nothing on the doorstep yet

Interested to see what effect this will have on my wifes C6 , as i will probably keep hers stock right now
Might just add a different secondary spring while i have it apart
Do some adjustments and testing before and after installation of shift assist and see what effect it makes

On my C7 i will probably install the shift assist , with some sort of clutch kit right away
This week is the time to wrench with all this warm weather and no parts at the doorstep
Wouldnt it be sweet to have unlimited access to all these weights and springs for testing :banghead:

Conditions completely dictate top speed.

My F7 will run 100 even on loose snow on GPS. It will run 113 on Glare ice. Same exact setup.
F7~NF(SP)
Yes, conditions are a big factor! I was racing my buddy with my 04 f7 with a ODS kit and he has a 03 rev 800 on a semi packed lake trail, he was beating me every time. I never thought I would hear the end of the gloating! Until about 20 mins later,we pulled up to a radar run. It was about 2000 ft of ice, I was getting 112 mph on the gun, and his best was 106! :div20:
