Well Saturday was the first ride of the season. I was riding with 2 yamaha's and 2 Rev's me being the only one with a poo. 600ho fusion.

Then it happened, the Guy on the vector wanted to race. Keep in mind my sled is stock and plugs were never changed from last year. He beat me out of the hole by 2 sled lengths. Mid range I ran him down and at the end he beat me by half a sled length.

Now here is the question. I'm planning on going to 400 main jets .45 pilots .8paj , will this be enough to beat him.

I cant lose to him again. :banghead:

If you got beat out of the hole by a yamaha, your x-fer set up is way off. Fix that first.

Here's the thing I just put 120 pick in this past fall. Ski's are not pulling off the ground, tack is spinning to much. any suggestion for set-up? dunno.gif

If your studs are all down the middle you will lose. Also check you rear scissor blocks-you want the widest gap for maximum transfer. 600 HO's very rarely lose an off the line race

For Better drag results. Loosen front ski springs an additional 1/4". Let center limiter strap out 1 hole. A tad more center shock spring pressure might also help but not to the point that you get push while trail riding. Set rear x-fer blocks to max x-fer, Thin block side forward. You will have to fine tune the above depending on how you want it to trail ride. What does for one (drag), takes from another(skiis down). If you like to throttle through turns, this may not work for you, but it will help your drag win average.

Dont be so surprised about losing to a Vector. Ive watched them beat other 600's all the time.

Make sure the spring "triangle adjusters" are on the softest setting and make sure your feet are at the back of the running boards. When you launch pull your weight to the back of the sled and stay there, you should smoke him. The Fusion's are the hole shot king usually. He should be trying to catch you. The only sled I've lost to is other Fusions off the line.

69redmach is right, I can get beat if my rider select is too forward. Pull it all the way back ang get your feet and ass all they way back. I get the holeshot everytime when I do this and sometimes on a quick drag I'll forget and :banghead: I don 't launch as well :beerchug:

You lost the race at the start....where alot of races are won/lost. You need to get a better start, and he will be seeing your flap the rest of the race. Take the advise from the previous posters and smoke his Yamaha-riding-arse!! :div20:

Anytime you lose to a Yamaha is very embarassing. I don't think I'd be posting that on the internet !

I wouldn't race anything bigger then a 500 last year with my 600 fusion it was a dog. After it got all tuned up I still lost to anything that went faster the 100mph. At -30 I could take a 99 xc 700 to 85 mph then I got smoked. It was the slowest 600 I had ever driven. Was good till 90 then never went faster then that..
It was so slow I had to trade it in. Got a 600 cfi and it rock&rolls.
