XC800WOT
I have a stock 01 xc 800 and i want to install a hot seat clutch kit. I want to know how difficult it is to install and if you need specialty tools to do this. Also i mainly ride in the U.P. and Wisconsin and wonder what jetting would be safe to use consistently the stock mains are 460's and can you install them easily without removing the carbs THANKS flag_usa.gif ylsuper.gif

You need a clutch puller and thats about it for specialty tools.

stock jetting can be safely change 2 sizes smaller as long as you not out in -10*f lake raceing .... 5 second burst with close jetting will not burn it down ever , 1 mile on a lake is a bad thing it if really cold! clutch kit with weights will take a few hours for a first timer.. you do need a puller for the drive clutch but this is only if you changeing the weights. some kit you dont? I ran 440 jets in my 2001 xc-8 all last season , I have a pyro 2000 EGT gauge to let me know if its hot or just fine. I can go leaner but its close enough that I dont need every last HP I can get.
