I have a 600 ho fusion it stalls when I push the perc button. :banghead: :banghead: Is my idol to low or what. The sled Idles at about 1600 is that to low ???? It does not stall everytime what ever sence that makes Thank you for any info!!
Gettin2Old
is the sled up to operating temperature when it stalls? or just after starting it?

they need to be up to temp.
CompFusion
Being up to temp is sure a big bonus but I've found the most likely culprit to be a too tight belt. Any excess drag on the engine from a tight belt or maybe an alignment issue will cause reverse failure. A secondary that has the deflection adjusted for a particular belt may be too tight if another belt is installed due to variances in belt dimensions...or wear.

mine does this sometimes usaly when its not warm or if you go in and out 2 or three times fast

Thanks I will look at belt and let you know

On my 2003 pro x 600 that had PERC installed if it wasnt warm or even if it was sometimes you just had to get the revs up alittle like 300 400 more than idle then hit the button

Probably not what you want to hear but on my Ski Doo when the RER quit working I needed a top end rebuild and I'm thinking the PERC and RER are baisically the same thing dunno.gif . It was a tell tale sign both times I ended up rebuilding my 600 HO,Hopefully that's not your problem but I think the motor needs to be in good overall shape for the electronic reverse to function properly, keep us posted
HONDAFIXER
If you pilot jets are too small it will stall often going into reverse-don't ask how I know.

the sled is brand new and has 1 mile on it. I turned up the idol so it is at 1900 and doesn't stall anytime I do it know.I don't think it is a motor problem. Better not be. We need some snow so I can find out for sure. Thanks for the help. I'll post if something is wrong with sled

Probably belt deflection too tight from everything being new and not properly set
up. Check and adjust the belt deflection as needed or just give it some time to
break in a bit, it should be fine. :beerchug:

let the sled warm up first
polaris9500
if u must activate the reverse when motor is not warmed up a little trick is to rev it up a little and hit the botton for reverse as u let off the throttle works for me.
600fuse06
Do the same as polaris900- works for me too
fusionguy
on my 600 H.O. just feathering the throttle and bringing rpm's up a little will stop it from stalling going into reverse

Or flip the choke lever on and off real quick before hitting the button.

I have tried all of those trouble shootings and feathering the throttle at a higher RPM works, but the problem is that the sled is in High Altitude Mode. Meaning that you have held the reverse button for too long. For a fast fix: Hold the reverse button for about 10 seconds to put it back into Sea Level Altitude! When the sled is in high altitude mode it is compensating for advancing and retarding timing. Hope this helps, Erich!

I've had a plug fowl on my 900 while using perc, when engine is cold, try letting the motor warm up first, i usually let mine warm up to around 96 F.
