People will be sledding no matter what between christmas and new years, morons
You bet they will. Once the snow on the trails is all used up people will start riding the ditches. If the DNR were smart, they would not open the trails untill the conditions improve and ticket anyone caught riding. However, as long as the trails are open, the resorts and hotels dont have to refund anyone's deposit. Sadly, in the northwoods is all about money and greed and the trails would open regardless of whether they had snow or not.

About 2 inches on the ground in St. Germain/Eagle River. Had a warmup and it looks like it is going to continue through the week. Temps to be in the mid to upper 30's and a chance of snow or RAIN. :banghead: It could be a while before trails are ridable. Be careful when checking trail conditions. Don't remember what site it is but it's a main one and they ALWAYS say the conditions are good even if there are more rocks thean snow on the trail. Just downgrade it by one or 2 then and that's the real report.
Good to see someone tell the truth! The business owners lie their a$$es off when it comes to trail conditions and you cannot believe much of anything you read on any trail condition site.
The best site I have found is www.wisconsinnorthwoodsliving.com. The guy who runs that site is not a hotel, restaurant or any other kind of tourism business owner, so he has no reason to lie or mislead anyone.
Basically, like Lakeland said, whatever they say, downgrade the trails by at least 1 level.
I will be in the St Germain area over X-mas and New Year's. I dont expect to ride my sled (but Im hoping that the weather with turn around), Im just going up to get away from the southern part of the state and enjoy some time in the northwoods. I can only take so much of the insanity of living south of Wausau.
