I just put a 1 1/4 track on my 700, replacing the 1 inch. I am used to the heavier lug track on my other sleds but it seems I have lost a substantial amount of top end speed on my 02 700xcsp edge x. I know that will happen with a bigger lug track but it seemed substantial. Is it my imagination but I think I lost at least 5 mph minimum.....thanks in advance.

might be track tension. a 1/4 inch up should not make that much diff. nice sled. blue looks good. Im gettin a 1.25 ripsaw next year, I dont care about top end really, I like the bottom end pull and quick acceleration weeeeeeee!. good for blastin off drifts.....

Thanks. I will double check the track tension.

I agree with ZRNewf on that one. I went from a 121"x1" track to a 136"x1.25" track on mine, and it did not seem to lose much at all. Track tension is probably it. I would ride it a few miles, maybe a hundred or so, to let the track stretch a little. Then check the tension, and give it another try. ylsuper.gif
