Full Version: Doesn't always rev up?!

When the machine has sat for a period of time, then cold started, let warm up properly, then giver, it revs to 8, then falls down to 6500-7 ish and won't go higher until its doing about 80-90 mph.

When the machine is warm, like being running for awhile, travelling at about 40 mph, pin it, and it will take a veryy long time to downshift and go. I'd like to say about a couple seconds. Not close to instant like it should. And when it does rev up, it only goes to 6 and bogs hard. It barely wants to rev over 6 after that.

This is very annoying when you want to drive through some deeper snow. I realize it only has 75 hp, but still.

When I bought the machine, it did a similar thing. I checked the secondary and it only had 6 lbs of tension. I adjusted it to 14 lbs. Now it seems like before. Im not sure though. It seems as thought the secondary is too weak and letting the belt drop down to fast.

Maybe something else. Need opiions please. Thanks in advance.

I beleive your thinking is along the right lines... I would pull both clutches down and check them over. It sound like the secondary is to soft. In return it is laboring the motor.

That's were I would start.

Good news. Fixed the bogging and not reving up problem.

A new ultimax3 belt solved it all. It pulls hard from a dig and revs like it should be.

Thanks for the help.
