Sent my stock pipe and head to Bikeman back in September to have the mods done. Rode 150 miles Friday and Saturday. I'm very pleased. Last year I saw 102 once on good conditions (lake), but 101 alot of times. Yesterday I saw a high of 108 on a plowed road and 106 on a seasonal road. The only other changes I did were changing my almond spring from last year(1000 miles), with a new one this year. A new stock secondary spring(same as last year) and ground my weights from 62.4 to 62.0. Pulls to 8150-8300 every time. Biggest difference of any mods I've done in the past. Not to mention one of the cheapest. :div20:

thats awesome!!ill have to see what mine pulls with their clutch kit and pipe mod!!!!!!!!!

Did you buy the new head kit or have yours worked on?
polar1
can you tell easly that the pipe had been altered(cheater pipe)
69redmach1
NO because the stock heat shield goes back on, can't tell. I've got mine back Friday and no one will be able to tell.

I had my stock head done. The billet head is supposed to be a better design, but I figured for $100 they would get the stocker close. Plus no one can tell it's not stock. They cut the head and reshaped the domes.

There's no way to tell even with the heat shield removed unless you know what to look for. About the only way to tell is a couple of short welds on the outside and if you look inside it. It looks to me like it's double walled in a section(narrower inside than outside), but I could be wrong. I didn't weigh it before I sent it out, but there doesn't seem to be any noticeable weight difference.

I would seriously consider both of those Bikeman mods but seeing as how the season is
already starting, I won't even bother this year. That and I just cannot understand why
they don't have an exchange program for this stuff. Like hell if I want my stuff tied up
for weeks while they thrash to get it done. I also emailed them two weeks ago about
a similar subject and have yet to get even a simple responce.... dunno.gif :frech32:

Just give'm a call. I have called them a few times in the past 3 weeks, and they always answered the phone right away, and had an answer for any question just as promptly.

Sent my pipe in and had it back in exactly one week

Did Bikeman suggest anything about the ignition timing advance or not with the head and or pipe mod? Anyone ask?> dunno.gif

Rod length and stroke mm on the new 600 ho same as the older ves 600? AFJ?

AJ, same rods, bore, and stroke. Cylinders from old motors will fit on ho motor.

Thanks. I thought so because I checked the timing via clutch mark/pointer method using measurement figures from a ves 600 rod length/stroke mm spec. Stock was about 26.25* and I bumped it to about 27.75*, stator movement figured to be about 1/16" CC on factory timing line. FYI.
racerdave
Sounds about right AJ. 1/8 inch gives about 2* advance

Good question. Didn't ask. Bumping the timing is on my list of things to do. Just wanted to get some miles on the head and pipe to see if I'm going to see the DET light. 150 miles with 400 mains @ 15-25* and it hasn't come on.
suark
There is no DET light on Fusions.

Yeah, there is
Dtrain
Yes there is. If not, mine is a special edition model.
sayatodaU.P.eh?
Wait, let me check..................YUP, DET light AND a knock sensor on mine.

Next.
suark
Yes there is a light in the MFD but it does NOT light up.

Probably the best customer service out of any snowmobile company that I have dealt with. They will tell you like it is and the turn around is about a week. I love their "Stealth" technology

Here's a link to the Polaris website specs for the 600ho. It does have DET. Please look at it! hyjack.gif

You've been misinformed. The 600HO does have DET and it does in fact light up.
69redmach1
Mine has lit up everytime it's triggered the det sensor and I can actually feel the power nose over as it pulls timing. Fortunately it was only a couple of times.
suark
The early build prototypes released late february '05 did have DET indication in the gauge but the '06-'07 models do not. A few of my customers claimed they saw the light also, I told them to pay closer attention to what light is coming on and they realized it was the brake light. The problem is the ac/dc converter (voltage regulator), I've replaced about a half dozen of them for this problem.
actionfigurejoe
Then I must have an early prototype. :fluffy:
HotROdLincoln
Those of you with the BMP pipe mod, have they suggested how much more clutch weight this pipe mod can pull? Their ad claims decent mid range torque increase....hmmmm. Did they specify an rpm for peak power?
sleddersteve
I bought the subscription to a un-named research company to get the same info. according to the dyno run they made, peak torque comes in at 8000, peak horsepower at 8200.
polar1
we ran an 06 600ho racer package and with to small jets and a long pull on the lake the light would flash, jet up a size or two and the light would not come on,these do have a det light.
xcrspx
How small of jets did you have in it?

If they weights are too heavy and it loads the motor too much on top end the light will also flash
suark
They told us at the 06 update school and it states in the book that there is no indication function in the gauge, I guess Polaris doesn't know what they're talking about, AGAIN.
Supersonic_735
My 2006 Fusion 600 HO Analong gauge.
As per my owners manual.........
Directly under the "0" is the DET Indicator
Directly under that is the Low Oil Indicator
And to the imidiate right of the DET is the High Temp Indicator

Page 30 of this same manual states:

When the DET system is adjusting the timing, the DET light on the gauge will flash. In most cases the flashing will be temporary and the timing will return to normal. If there is intermittent flashing, it's likely that the fuel or jetting is incorrect.

In extreme conditions the DET system retards timing and holdsit in a retarded state. The DET light will remain on until the engine is turned off and restarted.

does your pipe look stock enough after the mod that it could get by a dealership for warranty porpuses
Fast_XC
If the dealer knows what to look for, then he will find it. Otherewise it will pass for stock no problem, as the only evidence is a small gap along the pipes seam (about the middle of the pipe, and mostly concealed by the shields) where some material was added.

xcrspx we had 380 and have too go up two 400s,but we also ran 54/42f helix that does load the motor real hard on top end.also had the timing advanced around 3*.
