I picked up my 1996 Turbo Touring yesterday as a leftover. I read the manual on how to change the belts but how can this be done with the belly pan in the way? The ACT way says there is a belly plug you remove(there isnt) and there is no way to put the spark plug scocket in the driven pully. The Standard way says push in the clutch like my old panther but how can you push the driven pulley when the belly pan is there? witch way is right

I heard that you can lock the brake and use an oil filter wrench on the driven hub.

YOU CAN CHANGE THE BELT WITH THE SIDE PANEL IN PLACE. YOU USE THE TOOL IN THE KIT ,BUT YOU NEED A COMBINATION WRENCH TO TURN IT INSTEAD OF THE PLUG SOCKET. YOU CAN JUST PUSH IN ON THE CENTER OF THE SECONDARY AND GET THE BELT OUT. iF YOUR SLED IS A 2005 THERE MAYBE AN UPDATE ON THE ADJUSTER.

What tool are you talking about? I thought you were supposed to lock the brake and push in on the clutch and turn it? I just heard about the oil filter wrench, sounds like a great idea, I tried pushing in on mine and turning, takes a lot of ass.

I get it now. The tool is called the belt deflection tool arctic cat part # 0644-435. I picked one up it was 7.00. It is a nut with 3 nipples on it that fits into the driven pulley nut. You put it on and turn it with an open end wrench or adjustable and it spreads the pulley for an EASY belt change instead if killing yourself.
The dealer said set the parking brake, unscrew the nut on the driven pulley (using the tool), remove the washers (spacers), thread the nut back on then use the tool to spread the pulley out, put the new belt on, once belt is on you take off the nut and put the washers back in. It is easy as 123 now.
I like the oil wrench too
