Over the next year i'll be looking into a zr120 for my little ones. I check occasionally on HCS, Ebay, Paper, etc. and wondering what you all think is a good price? Let's say an '03, '04 or '05 (used or new). I'm sure i'd get better pricing if i waited 'til spring...which i'm willing to do!

To me it seems like they keep their value pretty good and there isn't a huge difference in pricing from used to new. Maybe a couple hundred bucks.

Your thoughts or experience???

In 2004 I bought a 2000 Z120 and paid 1700.00 CDN. Mint shape! They do keep there value. I usually see 1000.00 off dealer price. :beerchug:

It seems that these sleds bottom out around 1500.00 in used condition, no matter if they are mint or beat...oh yeah, also hard to find used.It was a no brainer for me, It had to be mint and i didnt want to pay 2 grand for a 5 year old sled so i bought a new one.Dealer had one from last year and i got a smokin deal on it.This happens alot at the dealerships and if you poke around you can find a good deal on a new one. :div20:

Here's my take on what I think would be a good deal. These are all STOCK sleds and in very good condition. It's plus or minus a little on these too:

2000 (doesn't have AWS from suspension) $1100-$1200
2001 (non-snow pro) around $1200-$1300
2002 (start of tweaked motor with bigger cam & better valve springs) $1300-$1400
2003-2005 around $1500
New 2006 or 2007 $1700+

Here's what I have for my sons:

2003 ZR120
6.5hp Honda with lighting coil
Stage 1 kit with pipe
Upgraded front shocks
Handlebar riser and chrome bars
Shock-it rear shock
Wyld Child clutch
Rear quick change hub and gears
Gold ice screw studs
Mighty Mini tach

I bought the sled new at the end of the season in 2003 off eBay (I couldn't pass it up even though we had a 2001 Z120). I have $2400 in it (kept my eyes open for great deals on the upgrades). I think I could sell it in a few years and get around $1900-$2000 because of all the upgrades. They do hold their value well. I would try to stay away from the 2000 and 2001 if possible, unless you find a hell of a deal. They both have a little less hp and the 2000 doesn't have the AWS front suspension. Just my 2 cents.

I just paid $3500 out the door for two new 2006 120s. One is green and the other orange. That is with tax and everything.

I was watching the papers and most advertised in in the interior of BC are going for $1800 to $2000 (Canadian funds). There are a number of them in that price range. I bought a used stock 2001 Polaris XC 120 for $1200. Good shape but the decals are a bit chipped from loading and unloading into the truck, no manuals and no tool kit (sled was the victim of a divorce and so not all the bits and pieces made it with the wife and kids). I've got about $400 in mods planned to get it tweaked nicely but right now, it looks good, starts well, and runs as well as a stock 120 will I suppose.
