It's hard to say, I just came brack from the island and there was lots of fog down that way, so if that hits the mountain for the night, I don't think i'd be going but weather is different up there, tommorow night they might get 20 more cms. You know how it is up there. Yesterday sunny on bottom, 15kms up snowing like hell. I would say it should make a little base as long as they don't get any heavy rain and depending on how quick it freezes up again. The worst thing is no frost and it is melting from the bottom too.

Ya guys with the warm winds here today blowing right over the Highlands and it was recently pouring rain here my guess is all that powder is probably gone or almost gone.
The mountains here and the highland trails leading up there are all brown now with no snow.
Here's a couple of pics from yesterday as we ATV'd the 104 looking for windfalls and erected some signs along the way. There was over a foot of snow but no base and still many unfrozen water holes buried under the snow.
Click to view attachmentClick to view attachmentI'd take a drive up tomorrow but I got my rear axle pulled out to replace a outer CV Boot :banghead:

Well, at least we got a few good days in !!! Like scratcher said though, it's a whole different place up there, so ya never know, there could be 2 or 3 feet of powder that just suddenly appears overnight, I've seen it happen many times. At least there will be somewhat of a base now instead of the bottomless conditions the past few days.... I'm sure someone will take a drive up and look-see :cn:

Ok fellas...I just took a drive out and I was suprised in a 5min drive the difference. Sorry no pictures. As of 3:45ish it is currently a 50/50 mix of rain and wet snow at the Red Barn. Once up further it became more wet snow than ran and once I hit the main gate entrance the road was still covered in snow. It hasn't been plowed and there are some dark spots. There are some marks from couple trucks it looks like but I'm not sure it was made today. I drove out about 1km but with a 2wd I was getting a little cautious but it was pure white stuff falling down, it was pretty cool. Visiability was maybe at best 1/2 mile, it was coming down nicely. So with the given forcast I don't see any reason why a run isn't possible tomorrow :beerchug:

Agreed! It'll take about 1.5 hours to get to the red barn from Antigonish, maybe a little longer if the roads are shit so by the time you take the turn and get up to Hunters and unload it'll be a little over 2 hrs before you're sleddin

Still took me half hour just to get to the mountain. Amazing what its like on the other side..just like summer. Way back over you could still see the snow falling out the highlands. was up there today, left from the gate at hunters mtn. there was about 4-6 inches of fresh stuff there and it got better as you went up the mountain. There was about a foot of fresh snow up top with some what of a bottom, more so then on tuesday and wednesday early in the week. all in all it was good conditions to go trailing on and put some miles on the sled. so go for'er boys and girls.
