Besides the price, is the Simon CPR clutch kit worth it?? I'm having a hard time choosing between Goodwin, Speedwerz, and the CPR. I have a ZR 800 cce (carb) Looking for explosive low to mid range torque, 90% of my riding consists of trail riding. Looking for some advice/people who own any of the clutches mentioned above. Please help. dunno.gif

I have the Cpr clutch kit in my zr800 efi and love it. I cant speak about the other clutch kits out there.

I used Goodwin kits in both of my '02 800 carb'd ZRs with excellent results, just as happy with it in my 800 turned 900. Good gains with zero hassles plus very nice folks to deal with on the phone, bent over backwards to make me happy.

Age thing I guess....................gotta admit your sled rox with CPR stuff in in but Rick's 900 fell on it's face.
I was running Goodwin stuff when we ran last year.

As clutching is all about trade offs.I have to say when I first installed the cpr kit the take off was at first excellent from a stop straight on up. Remember Rick just outside the gates of the forest that day?But shortly after I noticed if I was cruising at 50 mph and punched it. It was a dog.Being fair it was a used kit when I got it.And this was after 1000 miles or so. After I lightened things back up in the clutches the snap returned. The heavy hitters that come with it are well worth the money. They have 5000 miles on them with no significant profile wear. Bushed once a season.I think as a drag kit it was excellent, but it gave up a bit of trailability.

Honestly I don't remember your sled ever being fast..................LOL :div20: :div20: Oh ya, the time when you passed my 800 (didn't have the heart to tell ya I let off) :wut60:
All kidding aside, yes it seemed good but only for a short time, much better with the lighter set up.
Jetboy
If you search HCS a bit you can get a set up thats as good as the CPR and other "kits".
