Okay,
Just got a call from the Houghton Lake area and they need some people for one day to brush a new stretch of trail (about 2 miles). For those that ride the Houghton lake trails it's the trail that wraps around to the west side of the lake and heads north to Grayling. If you've ridden it you know the SWAMP area I'm talking about. The one that never gets groomed because the tractor can't get back there.
Well....they are trying to fix that!! They are bringing in gravel trains full of stone to bring the trail up 12" but until the 2 mile stretch gets brushed the trucks can't get in there.
I know it's snowing and most will be riding but if any of you are available during the week or this weekend and want to lend a hand please let me know.
This will be an awesome improvement to the trail system and the Trail Blazers are trying to get it done for this season. :div20:
Thanks,
Paul

What is the date you are trying to set up. Is it this weekend or next? Next week is finals for me so I will be studying all weekend.

Paul,
Where are they going to meet and what time? As far as I know I don't have anything going that I can't postpone. Do they just need bodies or tools, if so what?

Yep, all taken care of. There was about 10 people there to clear out the trail. I have to commend the snowmobile club up there, they do alot of work, especially Jim Debo (hope I spelled it right) he is out working on the trails just about everyday. I was just glad we could go up and help and didn't have something else going on. Scary thing is, is out of every one there I was in the younger crowd.

Just a little update for those that care. I just got off the phone with Jim who is leading the charge up there to get this done. He is at the point of pulling his hair out with the DEQ. Nothing more has happened due to the DEQ holding up the permits. Typical goverment B.S.!! :banghead:
