I see on how alot of you head west to sled and wanted to pass on this info...
A must attend... best 4hrs you'll spend to prepare for your trip west, thought this might interest some of you.
Avalanche Safety Class being held at the Hiawatha during Derby Weekend.. Jan 18th thru 20th...

CLASS SCHEDULE:
JAN 18TH 9am to 1pm & 3pm to 7pm
JAN 19TH 9am to 1pm
JAN 20TH 8am to 12pm & 4pm to 8pm

Kinda like all the sports centers being named after huge corporate sponsors.

Sorta like "Miller park"
instead of "Milwaukee county stadium"

It was not cheap, but the exposure that AMSOIL is getting is great. It is not the first time for the derby, it used to be the Valvoline Eagle River Snowmobile derby

If you plan to attend please sign up ASAP.. If not enough attending might have to cancel classes which would be a big shame....

What day is showing the most promise for a good turn out-The saturday 4-8 might work for me-but if another time is gonna be the only class I may be able to schedule for the time off-

I see they show avalance beacons-will there be any training/practice with them or just a general overview of how they work?

on which class is best to sign up for would be best for you to email them or call them, I dont have the class registrations...

they will have a beacon practice area at the race track. The Deckers are setting up an area that we can use. So before or after the class, students can get practice .
