Anyone going riding this weekend? Heard some people might be hitting up Hatchers.
homeslice
We're riding... not sure where yet. Juneau anyone?
Chad174
I'm going to ride either hatchers or eureka...eureka is supposed to be getting snow this week, they got 3 inches today
Rokmonanoff
I have Saturday blocked off this weekend. Gonna stay at school late Friday and finish lesson plans then. Hatcher's would be great, Eureka/Petersville would be acceptable. Point me toward the snow...

River running is tough as there is no base. Some leads still open. VERY Limited snow beyond Yetena station.

You will have to let me know how it looks up there. I was thinking of trying to run up between xmas and new year.

I didn't see too much on the cam last time I looked, but that was a few days ago.

its raining in Homer... no suprise, it has been snowing out in the hills though so that is good, wet and heavy, after it cools down, supposedly tomorow it will be a great base, heard rumors there was about 2 feet at the end of oilwell rd in ninilchick but have not confirmed this yet, no riding here in the near future. :banghead:

WOOHOO! SNOW!!!!!!

Now as long as it doesn't all melt I might get to go riding tomorrow. Anyone else planning on going out?
Rokmonanoff
so did anyone get out today? I stopped by Hartley Motors to pick up oil and talk snow conditions. They said Willow side of Hatcher's was pounded now, and they hadn't heard of anyone riding anywhere else nearby.

I always take what they say with a grain of salt, but that and the rain scared me off from today, and tomorrow is booked.

I did see a number of trucks with sleds headed up Palmer Fishook (toward's Hatcher's on Palmer side). Did they open that up, or are they just asking for tickets from the Park Rangers?

south is finally getting snow... 48" + new at elevation in the past week
Snowsquatch
Ugh! It was looking so promising yesterday, no more snow coming down and about 1" on the ground here. Was really hoping for 10' or so. grinning-smiley-023.gif

8-10 inches at 18 mile east end rd Homer, most likely more out in the hills might go for a ride this aftenoon get a few break in miles on the new sled. If I get any info I'll post it.
