After 650 miles, I've noticed mine is a lot harder on fuel than 2 other 02 700 XC's in our group.Mine now has 420 mains w/ 10-64 & alm-blu prim..I've just installed the new box, will this help the mileage or just the top end. Is the clutching helping or hurting the mileage?. Any comments will be very much appreciated.

my guess is it will slightly hurt mileage...... mostly beacuse its running more RPMs out of the corners.. But if the stock clutches had the motor in a mild BOG all the time it will help mileage! the morral to this is bog make a motor run hot use more fuel to do less work then a motor the has light loads and more rpm to go the same speed. example your xc may have 35 hp at 3600rpm and 55 hp at 5000 rpm at 1/4 throttle but to get more power cruise speed you dont need more throttle to maintain speed on a hill at 5000rpm but at 3600 it slows down and need more throttle/ hp to maintain speed! does this make sence? :div20:

Driving style has a lot to do with fuel economy. I can make my little 600 get 8 mpg, or as high as 13, depending on how I am out of the corners. Try running it a little easier and you'll be suprised. As for that clutching, its not hurting mileage at all. That alm/blue has a softer finish rate, so it will load the motor a little more keeping the rpm down. As long as the motor isnt "lugging", you're good, which its not.
