So the other night, I got a flat tire coming home from a friends house. :frech32: I drove it a block or two to get it off the main street. This tire is pretty much shot. There's no way I can get it fixed. And the bad part is, I don't have a spare tire, it's at home in Saginaw. And my truck is sitting on the side of the street, with two parking tickets on it, and the Police calling me ready to tow it. If I don't get it taken care of by noon tomorrow they're towing it.

So I hate to ask, but does anyone in the Ely area have a spare 265/75/16, that I could use to get to the college and home this weekend? Or know anyone that does? I need to get it home this weekend, so I can out new front tires on it. I don't have any money on me now, but would be able to give a little cash next week when i come back up if anyone let me use a tire.

It's a 93 Chev, 4x4. 265/75/16 with a 6x5.5 bolt pattern

This would be greatly appreciated! If you could help me out, pm me for my phone number

I'll see what I can do. No guarentees.

That would be awesome!

Sorry but I did have some take off tires that size. I looked but I must have got rid of them. Checked with a few other people that I thought had some but they are for 17" wheel. Check with the local garages, maybe they have an old tire that you could get mounted on that rim that will atleast get you off the street. Explain your situation to the police.

Alright, thanks for lookin out. I talked to the police and they're not being very reasonable about this. Didn't even help when I told them I was a VCC law enforcement student!

Saginaw huh??? My grandparents got a place right there on caribou lake. Im up there all the time snowmobiling. Anyway, wish i could help you out (as i work at a tire shop and see these tires all the time) but i wont be around there soon. If this would have happened a week earlier i definelty could have helped. Sorry.

Wish I was even remotely close :banghead: , I'd let you use the spare off my Toyota (should bolt right up). At least the bolt pattern should be correct. That sucks that the police are not helping out. Someone's gotta have a spare ... or like MTM said. Check the local tire shops ... they gotta have some throw aways you could mount up ?
trailhawk100

It's a good thing you mentioned toyota because my roommate drives a toyota 4x4 so he's lettin me use his spare tire and wheel. But we went down there and realized his tire iron was too small, and mine wasn't in my truck! So, I'm just gonna ask around at school and see if anyone has a socket set or tire iron for a full size truck.
But thanks alot for your help guys! :beerchug:

Damn, for a sledder you sure are short on tools... Might want to work on that :div20:

Only kidding...

Look up your fellow student Andy Dahl, of Red Wing, He should have any tool you need, tell him Barlow told him to help you I aslo think he is driving a truck up there these days and may have a spare for the weekend, you fellow students should be able to help you out as for the cops, remember to give a guy a break once in a while when you are the one with the lights on your car. About the tools tell santa that a 4 way tire iron would look good behing your seat for christmas.

No you are right! Just last weekend I emptied out my truck, and took the spare out of the bed to make room for an ATV. As I was leaving home on Sunday to come back up here, I thought to myself, I should grab my toolbox and my spare, just in case! But instead I drove by the garage and left for Ely. I guess I've learned my lesson though!!

Well I couldn't find anyone at school that was willing to help out with a tire iron, so I decided it would be a better idea to drive it a block or two over to the gas station. I figured that would be better than getting it towed. But I know there must be someone up here at school that can lend me the wrench. On top of this whole tire situation, I just found out that in 3 of my classes, I missed big projects while I was gone in October because of shoulder surgery. The instructors must have forgotten to include that when I asked what they were going to doin class while I was gone. So now most of my grades are shitty also. This has been a very shitty week for me!

Well if thats your girlfriend in the picture, things can't be all that bad!!!!!!

As far as the tire goes, I hope someone helps you out there.
