Can any locals give a snow report regarding the park ..... they are calling for 20cm today/tommorrow. How is it looking?
ZR800EFI
Should be good soon!

We always make a few runs up there before there's anything around here. We usually start east of Notre-Dame-du-Laus at the edge of the park, or at Montpellier, and ride up to Mont Laurier and back. Awesome for a day run and now water crossing to worry about.

The snow coming is nice, but it would be good to get a few -20C days to freeze things up nice first.
Mid Range
Trails are not opened yet and won't be accessible until they're groomed and opened by the local club.It is strickly forbidden to ride in the Park for the moment. You could be fined

Thanks for the info.... I won't go sledding!!! but I was wondering if I could go cross country skiing there before all the hi powered sleds get out there and make all kinds of noise and pollution and almost run me over? LOL

IS THERE ANY SNOW??? :banghead:
quebec#1
You should be able to go cross country skiing in the park this weekend, Theirs plenty of cross country ski trails all around the park that dont use the snowmobile trails.
Theirs about 20 cm on the ground from last weekends storm and today's snowfall. They are calling for another 7 to 10 cm by the morning.

Bucky the D.O.G
Thanks for for an actual snow report...much appreciated. We are hoping to maybe take a toot on Friday the 17 around the park....with a new 4 stroke hopefully I won't leave too much pollution and upset the skiers. I am sure that there is no ice, so it will be limited but it is better than nothing. In a perfect world we might even be able to pick our way over to the Bar St. Louis  and
Hey zr800efi maybe we will see you there. We often go to Montpellier as well, it is pretty good running there early on.(when are you going to change your name??? it is a conflict of interest when you are driving a big YAMAHA)

What other sleds are in your group? 3-of us who go on a regular basis (well, 2 this year since ArcticF7ext won't be allowed to ride till Feb...) will be on an '06 GT, '06 RTX, and an '07 Mach X. There's a couple others that tag along from time to time.

My neighbor in the Vinyl Village had a nickname of 'Bucky', but he rode a Doo...

You still have the '79 SRX? Our club is talking about doing a vintage run this season -- something like 20-30 miles max. Just to get some old sleds together and have a good time.

I guess I could change my name...

St-donat entrance to coin lavigne and towards the hut that sells gas and food and the caribou . Even notre-dame de la merci had the 310 groomed as well.
But dont expect mid winter coditions !
bernard motel safari
I would not ride Quebec at this time. Mabey Mt -VALIN But the rest needs at least another 8 to 10 inches of snow. I will post when first groomer goes out. As for the park. Could be some riding because the have many summer roads, and that is easy to groome,??? Bernard 819-536-2664

I rode the park on Saterday and the trails were groomed . Trails were 8 out 10 and felt like i was riding in mid winter conditions.
Their were a good number of sleds in the park on saterday and near the end of the day trails were getting soft.

If the weather report holds true (warm temps and rain) for the next few days i dont think conditions will hold for next weekend. trau14.gif
To sum up the report , Some nice riding and i didnt have to drive 8 hours to Mt-Valin for my first ride of the season :div20:
gauge
:div20: I second that!! We rode there Saturday it was great! Trails were getting a little thin by then end of the day.And it was nice not to have to drive to Valin for first ride of the season. Thanks again Quebec #1 :div20:

Yes zr800efi I still have the 79 SRX, runs great but is almost too nice to drive regularily(bit of a trailer queen), so I use my 72 Alouette for the antique runs. My buddy (has a 71 Artic Cat Puma) and I would love to go on the run in morewood. We had a gang from North Gower area go out twice last year with the anitiques, it was awesome hard to beleive that 30 mph can be so much fun.

I ride with all Yamahas, my red 07 apex GT, an 02 blue viper, an 04 blue warrior and another red 07 apex GT.

Weather fin sucks!!!!!

Its only 3 hrs tops ( towing a trailer) right to the park gate! The park can get a little busy but you can go anywhere from there in a reasonable amount of time. The long range forecast says snow for them for 3 days starting christmas day! If your looking for good spots not too far from Ottawa let me know!

3 hours is about right, we generally take 417 east to the Vankleek Hill exit, cross the Ottawa river in Hawksbury to 50 east, to the 15 north to St.Agathe make a right and your're home free. We found these roads safer for towing in all weather conditions, the road into St.Donat and to the park is windy and hilly but O.K.

Looks like the park will be closed this weeekend :banghead: Snow is melting fast and rain in the forcast for the next few days with warm temps. It doesnt look like we will get any snow until after christmas veryangry.gif
Very Bad news for all of Quebec ! Even Mt-Valin !

Whats 10cm...about 3 inches or so?

More or less, yeah.
2002Silverex
So its only going to take the parc 3 inches to be able to ride? they must have a damn good base already then, because 3 inches isnt much.

I know cabannon has a solid 6 inches as of yesterday morning because a guy i know just came from there.
SERPAGS
I think they have about 4 inchs

In the park you don't need much snow because it's all roads in summer, not like wooded trails that have rocks stumps ect.... :beerchug:

Quebec #1 is gay and Quebec# 2 is not. Though he has been trying to convert me for a long time it ain't gonna happen, I don,t like dick. So if I were you Pat I would watch out. I heard from someone he constructed some kind of domination dungeon, so if he asks you into the basement to see his polished tunnel, don't go. :fluffy: :fluffy: Just a side note Que. #1 is also trail security this year and I think he has a gun and handcuffs, so anydoby going to his little hideaway better beware. :beerchug:

wHAT Happened to that "possible nor'easter"?
gowser
It's 50 degrees in otawa / gatineau today....has to be above 0 in the parc. Whatever they had / have is doomed...sunny and warm again tomorrow. The golf courses are opening agin this weekend. I called ...emailed all over up north yesterday....Val D'or etc. There's squat out there.
