do i need to show proof of insurance to register in n.y. i'm going up tomorrow to D&D's open house and was planning on registering my sled in utica on the way up. i haven't gotten anything from my insurance company yet to show proof of insuance. do they need to see proof to register ?

I don't think you need proof of insurance to register it but you will need it to ride. You'll need your home state registration OR a bill of sale.
Several miles (4or 5) before D&D is the town of Lowville. RT 26, I think. You can register your sled(s) at the courthouse, which you will pass on the way to D&D.
