this is dumb question but i recently sold my 136 ripsaw on my xfire and i have yet to get my new track for it. Its been a few yrs sense i had a 136 " track and i cant remember how many studs it would take if i was to put 2 stud patern on a 136 track. please help as i want to order studs in the next couple days and i have no track to go look at right now :banghead: :frech32:

I believe it is 108. Unless the crossfire has a narrow track like the fcat, but a 15" wide 136" is what I think they have.

definity 108 studs...I just studded my track last week with two studs per.

Guys a friend of mine bought one last night and wanted me to find out a few things. What size are you using? Are tunnel protecters neccasary? He's coming of a fcat with 153 and wanted me to find out what the equivalant to that would be for the 136.

the track i am placing on my xfire will be the 1.375 striaght lug paddle. I'll be placing tunnel protectors on thats for sure and using 1.9" studs. seems to be lots of clearance under there. just gotta put on the protectors

Opher, this is what I did.........
108 1.4" Extreme Maxx stainless studs
Extreme Maxx tall big nuts w/Loctite
54 double backers
made up my own staggered pattern using the A/C template as a guide
A/C protector down the middle
1 universal 1" tall Polarid tunnel protector cut in half and then placed inline with the track windows for extra protection.

It seems that if you run studs taller then 1.325 with the Ripsaw, you can still hit the tunnel sometimes.

I want to drill my track today. Can I just use my old Woodys stud guide plate? I always thought a good V-pattern was best?

ZR that looks good. I'll pass that on to him. His firecat had 153 in it and listening him talk to dealer last night I have a feeling he'll end up putting an equivalant amount in. My question is with more track on the ground how are you finding traction with 108? Also he was wondering about the groove in the rear exchanger does that need any sort of protector or does what you did keep it away from it?

I haven't ridden the sled with studs yet this year. I have always run 96 studs in my 121 sleds and not had a problem. I only use studs for the control aspect and not for shear acceleration. If he plans to drag race the sled I would suggest more studs. I rode all last year without studs(1300 miles and 1/2 of that off trail) and other than some icy days I didn't feel that I needed them.

The A/C tunnel protector slides in to that groove in the exchanger to protect it.
