I don't know if any of you heard/read etc, but there was a fatality this weekend in the world of sleds. It happened in the Mat-Su Valley, less than a mile from my place. Fairly calm, daylight, no alcohol involved, but a death nonetheless. Let's be safe out there this year when we get together...

Tragic but I wonder if he would have lived if he had a helmet on. According to the news he was not wearing one.

same thing happened up here in fairbanks about a month ago. The guy was wearing a helmet, but i guess it wasn't strapped cuz it came off... last i heard they were not sure if he had been drinking

the missing helmet was the glaring problem here, but i have done it myself before. local guy, going for a quick buzz in the neighborhood while there is a little snow on the ground. accidents are often preventable, but they still happen.

the guy who was driving the truck is a member of my church. it has been pretty rough on him.

good time to be thankful for what you have, and in my case what i have gotten away with as a lucky man.

On tuseday my friend was riding in the ditch and another rider swerved and hit him doing 90... it wrecked his firecat and put him in the hospital over night with a concussion..lucky thats it ..and for the kid who hit him he walked off fine.
