Entered from the North River Oregon Trail this time, but probably should have gone to the Hunters Mtn. entrance since the snow cover on the Oregon was around 6 inches, and it was a bit scratchy, but once we climbed up in elevation, it was pretty good. Probably around 12-20 inches of fresh powder in some areas, but it was pretty much bottomless, so expect to burn a little extra petro, Davey Boy can vouch for that ! We only saw two other sleds the entire day, looked like a couple of newer Black 550 fan GSX's, but that was it. The Highland road was probably the best as far as conditions went, seemed like it had some packed snow underneath all the powder which made for better floatation and less drag on the sleds, and there were a few times we could barely see from the powder flying over the hood. The Fielding road was untouched as far as I could tell, looked down at the speedo once, said I was moving at 100 km's, but it felt like 50 maybe, there was no base and probably 20 inches of powder here too. Cape Clear was a pretty good run, but there were a few clicky spots where the wind blew the snow across the road, overall though, lots of snow. By the end of the day, we had around 120 km's on and it felt pretty darn good to get back in the saddle, that's for sure !
Pics are on the way..... :div20:

A few pics from the Oregon entrance.....
And here's a few shots at Timberlake, no big drifts here as of yet, but there was one starting to form on the way back out at the end of the day. As you can see, there was quite a bit of powder here !

I would go tomorrow then if I were you Troy, cause there's enough powder there for sure, plus it was snowing good for most of the day. Who knows, might be even more tomorrow....
Cape Clear seen it's fair share of "wildlife" today ! Poor ol Davey Boy was nearly tempted to cook up some Partridge, he was starving as usual ! :smilielol:

you guys should be thanking me for breaking the trail for ya's, instead I get made fun of. :div20: It was a pretty good day all in all, still a little to early for north river though. A few technical routes going up that trail to say the least, and dave next time remember to bring some sandwiches. lol.

Me and buddy left from the main gate at Hunters Mtn...only 1 other truck there and they were leaving. Said they went to the Pig n back...One of them had a 1000 Rev..said it wasn't working good so they had to leave. Figured we would of seen more trucks there. Hope fully the rain that is expected won't kill it to much and at least leave us with a base :div20:

All in fun there big guy ! :div20: Dave C was breaking trail pretty much most of the day, and a few of his zig zags through the trails almost put me in the ditch a couple of times, not easy following someone through all that powder ! And don't worry pal, I'll have some PB&J sandwiches for ya next time....rather pay your room and board than feed ya, that's for sure ! :smilielol:
