Didn't actually blow the belt but the alternator bracket cracked causing the belt to blow.

I have heard there is a problem with altenator wiring melting as well. Is this true?

The plug on the alternator can be damaged in certain conditions from heat. They are replacing the alternator shield with a wider one for free on all 06's.

Yes the wiring can melt, but the update for the 06 has a larger alt. sheild to combat that exact problem. I'm sure the 07 already has the larger shield.

the cracked bracket was a manufacturing defect, it cracked along a mold line I believe.
