I would not normally do something like this, but this bozo left me no choice.
I had my 1996 Polaris Ultra asphalt sled for sale on here for a while. I had a few bites, but never had them commited. I was willing to do a trade for a newer edge chassis, plus some money, for my new project that I had in mind. So I got an email from a guy with a 2001 edge x 600 chassis with asphalt ski's and an older 15" wide asphalt track on it. I saw the pictures, it looked decent and I knew I was going to be going through it all anyhow, so I gave him a call back.

In order to comprimise on my end, since I wanted $2000 for my sled, I figured he would have to give me a few more parts in order to make up for the lesser cost chassis. It was agreed that he would leave the asphalt track in it, ski's on it, give me an extra wiring harness, 4 extra asphalt ski wheels, .91 snow track from the sled, hot-seat clutch kit for 01 800 (just to re-sell), 2 sets of hyvo gears w/ chains, stock front shocks (had old lowered shocks on it), billet rollers in stock suspension (and I quote "it is full of billet rollers and 8" rear wheels") primary and secondary clutch.

This deal seemed to me to be even and fair, and maybe a little more than I would of asked for. But the guy seemed like he really wanted my sled for ice racing... He is from lower Wisconsin, me from NorthEast Ohio. We met just west of the Indiana/Ohio border, 4 some hours for both.

I pull in and we meet. I start going over the sled, realizing that he pulled out the asphalt track, and put the stock one back on. Ok, I was expecting it to be rolled up on the side of the bed somewhere. NO! So I lift the hood since the xtra parts were in the bottom of the bulkhead. For the most part, I see everything he mentioned except the primary clutch. Now I start questioning him... He says no problem, I will send it out on monday through the mail along with the track. Looking at the rear suspension, he took out the rollers and 8" rear idlers and put it back to stock. I forgot to question that, but figured he would send them out with the other stuff...

I decided to go through with the deal since the guy seemed straight up, but just a little dumb (kind of like me), and I put the blame on that since he seemed to get confused easily. I should of packed up and left back for home with my sled and said the heck with him...I thought I could trust him since I had a cehck from him for $50 for an extra set of carbs I sold him, had his address also.
Tryed calling him SEVERAL times, no answer or call back. Tryed calling him from many different numbers (buddys phones), no call back to them. This guy is the scum of the earth, and I hope no one from this site deals with him EVER! If anyone knows him or who he is, let me know because he proably shafted me out of $5-600 worth of parts, at least.

His name is Joe Schneider. He raced this sled at Wisconsin International Raceway, his number was 427. It was a red with black and red X graphics...he ran about 11.3-11.4 with it as a stock 600.

If anyone wants his e-mail address, e-mail me at Polar600xc@aol.com and I can give you his phone number too. Hopefully everyone will send him a nasty line, and give him a call thanking him for me for giving me the shaft. To all of my racing friends that I have met, give me a hand with this to get back at him. You all know I am a stand-up guy, and would never do something like this to anyone, so why does someone have to do it to me. Sorry for ranting and the LONG post, but this guy seriously pissed me off...Thanks for the help.
