I know this stuff is damn near impossible but would any HCS'ers be interested in trying to get together for a ride in Potter County? Could start out around Potato City in Coudersport due to it's central location or even meet at the Potter County Snowmobile Club clubhouse, lot's of parking there.

That's the same story with me for the most part. Best, closest place to school. We have a cabin and most of the time have a few open beds. We only charge 10 bucks/night. Down in Big Moores Run. Close to the Eleven Mile Road.

i might be interested as well. Just built a cabin a mile or 2 north of the Fin,Fur,Feather so i'm down near LEBO vista. Likely i'll run into you guys(not literally). I have the Snowcam in Haneyville and will be getting another cam operating at my brother's cabin in Tamarack/Cross fork area probably this weekend.
http://mysite.verizon.net/vze88orm/First thing we all need to do is look to the skies for some white stuff! Any ideas of what i can do for an offering to the snow gods on the webcam??

Hey Polxc5, what are you riding? Your current sled says "retired". What's that all about?
Also, i'm kind of new to riding since last year was the first year i had the cabin and sled. So how hard is it to get from Tamarack/Cross fork to Haneyville?

Actually picking up a Rev 600 next week. I going to guess since your down there that you can get to Hyner View? From CF to Hyner View I would jump on the pipeline and then take Whitman road to Robinson road and then Beson which should get you real close to Reeders bar. Coming up from your place there is a sign on the pipeline showing where to turn to Cross Fork.

Yep, i know where that is on the pipeline. We tried it last year before xmas but never went the whole way. Guess we'll hope for a longer season this year. The gas line actually runs right by my brothers place (it's near the place where the dumpsters are inside the fence??) figured it wouldn't be hard to find just didn't get much time to ride on that side of 44 last year.

I'm starting to think my brother's place and yours are right next to each other. We'll need to hook up when the snow flies. He's been riding for years and when i rode with him i used one of his sleds until deciding to get my own last year (which, BTW, is why we didn't have any snow last year) Now i'm hooked so bad i built a cabin! Looks like it'll be cold next week, we'll need a good storm along about next Saturday to get things movin.

Gotta be close. We sometimes go up for the snodeo but man if it's good snow that place is nuts with sleds and groomers can't keep up but gotta ride when you can.
Another thing, I've been trying to find some guys that can get together and ride thru the week up there because I work some weekends.

Just got back from the cabin. No Power!
Trees down everywhere and damn cold. We cleaned up the trail from Haneyville to Trout Run about 4 weeks ago but i'm betting it's now littered with debris. If anyone has some time in the next week or 2 it might be a good idea to round up some friends and clear what you can so that the groomers can get through.

polxc5,
Brother and I just got back from his cabin in Tamarack. Cabin is very close to 144? on Dings road. The gas station/service station is on 144 at the end of the road. He says it's called Rainbows. Are you near this place?
The new cam is now working at:

Yes I know Rainbos. We turn off 144 to the right just before the station and we are about 1.5 miles out that road, Steward Hill Road is the name.

He said he thought that was probably the road you were on. I believe we saw the "official" snowmobile sign marking that road as part of the trail.

Have you checked out the cam today? CHeck out the archive on the Haneyville Cam and see for yourself. It was pretty white at 1 point, then for whatever reason the cam went down for a couple hours. Now it's back up. Can't wait for a big dump!
