I have an '03 ZR 900 with a Hooper 1000 kit. Was wondering what RPM I should D&D 1010 twin pipes? Part #1021010. Have chance to pick up a set cheap and wondering if this would be better than current Speedwerx big bore single? Use this sled for 1000 foot radar runs.

Any info would be helpful!!!!!

Set your clutch so your motor spins at 7800 at wot then it will creep up to 8000-8100 on the big end and thats where you want your rpms.

not much experience with the aftermarket singles compared to twins. but i have ran stock single 1 season and dd twins 1 season and the twins win hands down but twin pipes aren't my only modification. If your gonna do it go all out or you willl find yourself addicted to making your sled faster.

Picks what else do you recomend. I have a bearcat clutch and a 4-pro, v-force, 1000 kit, apv shims, wiper track and working on sheddng weight, but would like some ideas on getting less rolling resistence and where to start shaving weight. Thanks :div20:

I know of a guy that makes lightweight A-arms when i talked to him he said 3 or 4 pounds and they are stronger than oem. wave brake rotor, boss seat, eat salad and stay outta the beer for 2 months. ha ha just how deep are your pockets is a huge factor in this buissness or any buissness that involves making things go fast.

I have been thinking about the light weight arms, and the seat, the salad thing isn't a bad idea either but the no beer thing could be difficult. Very difficult, thanks again picks!

I believe that's only for the older ZR's. I have one on my '96 ZRT prostocker. The ZR 900's bulkhead is aluminum.

1000 Hooper? Yeah I'm familar with that mota. Friend from Bangor has one and he gets his azz handed to him all the time. It doesn't hook up for chit either.
Here's what you need to do:
-cut heads .025
-put on Wildcat 700 twin pipes
-jet down 4 sizes
-4 degree timing key
-turn 9100
Just screwing with ya bud. Can't wait to get together on the pond.
BTW Scott from Label X says this motor definiately needs twins.

Hey apv, I know about getting my ass handed to me!! I know a guy with a zr8 that would run over me all the time except the SOB can't ride for shit!!!!! If he ever gets the hang of it I'll be dead meat!!
I tried the 4 degree timming key but now I'm having starting problems. I've got a new F1000 getting ready for the trail. If I get that sucker out on Gould I'll probably need binoculars just to see if that 800 is still trying to catch up!!

Any ice out there yet??? Hope to see you soon Bud... :burp:
