i think we should start accepting that winters in new england will be gone.....................its a fact that the warming of the planet is effecting our winter sport. snowmobiles will be a thing of the past and we will all be riding atvs :banghead:

We have had good and bad winters going back the 35 years I have been alive. Right now unfortunately we are in the bad part of the cycle similar to what hit the upper midwest a few years ago. Last winter had the storms come a little further south we would have had a good snow year like they did in eastern Quebec. Dec 15th last year everyone was excited we were going to have a huge year with the foot of snow on the ground and within a week it was all gone never to return in most places.

I'm not giving up the 04/05 season there was a poor start to winter much like last year and this year, lots of December rain including the new years day rain that wiped out most of the snow in NH but 2 weeks after the snow came and stayed till April.

Just remember how right all the EXPERTS were about the TERRIBLE huricane season we would be experincing this year! DUH! NOT! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Their computer models are not any good beyond THREE DAYS! :smilielol: Even then, they are only about 60% correct. :frech32:

Haha! The indoor Motocross center in connecticut is 2 hours away and is a nice temperature controlled 60 degrees all winter long! I love sledding, but kinda glad I sold it this year!

ummm, who cares about computer models, or weather men.....................all i know is that its december 1st and its 66 degrees here in manchester nh and we set all kinds of warmth records since they kept track of them in 1880 . yeah i hope im wrong but look outside people ! yes its supposed to get cold, but only for 1 week and during that cold spell, guess what, no storms .. same as the last couple of years.

If the northen and southern jets are in pattern change that could last but for how long nobody can really tell. We need the northern jet to stay south of the canadian border to keep the cold in and have the southern jet bring storms our way from the south and southwest. Maybe I should have been a meteorologist - I can predict the weather as good as them without all the gadgets they have

ground temp is in the 40's ............................not good if we get snow, it willinsulate the cold (if any) from freezing the ground.

It's looking to be worse than last year, I am definetly not making plans til Pittsburg gets some snow, more than last year too!!!!!!!

i hope im wrong but i think it is going to be worse than last year..............its like i stated in this thread days ago, when its cold, no storms, when there is storms, itts warm..........................its the pattern we are stuck in for a few years i think.

I think what we need to hope for December based on the long range forecast is not a couple of big dumps but small daily accums to add up. Still plenty of time if the cold stays in place. I still have hope to be riding out of lopstick on 12/26.

perfect tiem to be getting snow, i just decided to do a motor transplant like 2 weeks ago due to no snow, lol, now we get it. just more encouragement to work on it alot more:-p
