Well, the link no longer works. Here http://www.ironwoodglobe.com/1118rall.htm

but the link stated that this was the last year for the red light rally due to declining participation and poor snowfall. So take it as you will, I think it suxs, but....

The Iron County Miner newspaper last Thursday stated " this is the last Rally the Hurley Chamber of Commerce will sponser" There is an opinion that "others" may continue it.

They just had that rally too early in the year IMO. I know it's supposed to celebrate the beginning of the snowmobile season, but consider it for the first weekend in January, and I think participation would increase. I would say do it the week after Christmas, but that's coming up on New Year's, and doing it the week before Christmas is asking for the same problems you have now.

They can figure this out Im sure, they just need to break the tradition and start looking at other options.

all the snow will be melted by than. 30s and 40s all week and rain!

I've always thought this too, but it seems the chamber people got a hardon to be "the first ride of the season" all the time. Its been a long time since ridings been worth a shit before Christmas. Only had good riding for the rally maybe 3 times in the last ten years. I remember freezing my ass off once at the radar run they used to have right in town on trail 77..... Man those were the days.
