as long as it is cold we have good chances of lake effect, which probably isn't considered in these type forecasts.

Looking good for the Snodeo next friday. Its always better when they run those machines on snow, rather than grass or mud.

Our machines are ready to go. Just waiting on some snow in Tugg Hill.

Unless you live near tugg hill or maybe old forge, snow condition in NY don't look good. Each yr. it seems like there is less and less snow. The snow doesn't come like it used to. If you live in NY and you like snowmobiling, you better have a trailor.

Found this interesting info on average snowfall for NY. I have to admit, I too seem to remember the snow being deeper years ago. But it seems that yearly snow averages here in NY are just as unpredictable as the daily weather.

Now ovisouly snowmboiles aren't the only reason, and actually are hardly a reason, but they do impact global warming. Something must be done about global warming or snowmobiling will become extinct. It won't happen in our life time, but something needs to be done. The snow needs to start falling and adding up.

I did not have time to do this for all of the areas, but take a look at Albany data. I put it into a graph and added a trend line. The trend shows an increase in snowfall over time. The variability is what kills us.

it has to do with the sun having storm cycles with huge solar flares, i will have to find where i read it but were about 2/3rds of the way through a 10yr cycle. if you look at all the previous recordings it caused very simmilar weather to what we have been having the last 5 or so years

The last few winters have sucked but they arent out of the ordinary.I remember the winter of 73 getting verry little riding in 74 it wasnt much better.I remember that year my father worrying about keeping his dealership open.75 great year of riding. the weather goes in cycles.lets not forget in the 80s we were taught we were on the verge of annother ice age.dont get caught up in the hype nature has more power than we humans can ever understand. :cn:

I'm more inclined to believe scientists and factual data. I also believe you should not be using Tugg Hill's annual snowfall as a reference guide for global warming. Tugg Hill is farther North than most of the US and it gets it's snow from lake effect. So declines in temperature in that area are not as noticable as they are elsewhere in the US. It still snows considerably and a decline in one month's snowfall can be made up in another very quickly. Therefore Seanykid's chart is meaningless. A chart showing annual temps would probaly be better

I grew up in Southeast PA and have lived in Northern VA, Southeastern NY, and now here near Syracuse. I remember the days of very long and cold winters and waist high snow. Those days are long gone and annual temps and snowfalls are getting pathetically worse in those areas. If these situations are due to a cyclic pattern of sun flare activity, it's been going on longer than a few years. I would also ask where is the data backing this flare activity? Aoll I read were opinions.

I am not a "global warming" freak by any means and I obviously love snowmobiling. I just think that we all need to take some of this stuff seriously and at least listen to some of the concerns coming from the "liberal" media as you call it. So what's wrong with decreasing air pollution? What's wrong with forcing the extremely "fat" oil and energy industries to spend a little of their money to make the environment a little cleaner? What's wrong with looking towards alternative and cleaner energy while at the same time ridding our addiction to foreign oil? It all depends on whom you ask.

What would all these scientists do without Global Warming? Without all the funded "programs", how would they earn a paycheck?

i only read some, n i saw the post of the guy saying sleds and their polluting the air. What about cars, air planes, trains, shops, etc, compare them to a sled. aND TO THE SNOW FALL/GLOBAL WARMING THING WHERE JUST GOING TREW A CYCLE WHICH TENDS TO HAPPEN EVERY Bunch of years. If im correct it happened back in the 70's or 80's
