Looks like the temps will be good for serious icemaking this week. Lake Vermilion should be safe to ride on before too long.(as of yesterday some bays had 3" -4" of ice) With no snow it should be a good base on the lakes. Hopefully that part comes soon after.

Heres a link to Tower's temp outlook for the week.
brrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

That is perfect. A week of cold to get everything froze up really good and then 15'' storm the following week. I guess we can only hope and dream.

Ya cold is good... I was up at Vermilion last sunday to my moms and on Daisy Bay there was a good 3-4 inches next to shore and a solid 2-3 inches out about 30 feet from shore so it should be good in a week or 2 for some early ice fishing if it stays cold like they say.. The ground is starting to freez up pretty good also cuz I have to make a pilot hole in the ground to place locate flags in, It is firm enough I can't just push them in any more.. Couple more weeks of work for me then it's time for a break for the winter from work till April or so anyway

Jimmer , tomorrow is my last day for the year . then 175 hours of pto in december . Alittle colder than when I met you at grantsburg that sunday . I WANNA GROOM !!!!!
trailhawk100
Sure rub it in why don't ya.... I got 2 more weeks left, Dec. 15th will or at least should be my last day and then I have 40 hours PTO to cash in on for the year. I'll be down in cids that weekend for X-Mass on my Dads side of the family, then one more paycheck till unenjoyment starts.. We are working on our groomer this weekend, oil change and some track maintenance (changing some cleats) and cleaning it up to get ready for the year.. I love this cold weather makes it feel like it is Dec. now
Sledneck141
hehe, it december tomorrow............. :frech32:

j/k

our lake froze this morning. usually doesn't freeze till the middle of december so november 30th is pretty darn good. maybe we'll actually have good ice this year??

The lake i live on has only had one small bay that has been open for the last couple weeks. A lot of the lakes around here have been froze over for a while now.

Me and the other drunken numbskulls cut a hole in the ice last night so we could sauna. Ice is around 8" thick at Windigo and smooth as glass, for all you speed-runners out there that want to run the high numbers!

Thanks Twilight, I don't ride trails, so I guess I don't know when they open. Thought maybe it had something to do with fish houses being able to permanently stay on the lake, but again I don't fish, so I don't know... Grandparents live on Tonka, yet I don't like to fish one bit... :div20:
