:banghead: Well I purchased a sled from a Conn. resident, but he kept it registered at his winter home in Wilmiington Vermont. He can't find the paper work for his Vermont reg. What paper work is needed to transfer a sled in Vermont. The seller isn't sure himself what he needs.I'm just trying to help him so I can maybe rid e a legal sled this year.Deals like this one or the ones that make trust a had thing today. dunno.gif

I live in CT and register my sled in VT. The only information I ever have is a hand written Bill of Sale...no one has ever questioned anything.

A little off the subject but,I was wondering why New Hampshire requires a photocopy of drivers license, and they issue new registration numbers every year?Vermont issues you the same reg.#'s from the previous winter, granted you didn't buy a new sled.

THANKS, IT should help .I usually get permits for both vermont and NY .i live in NY and without a transferable reg , they won't let me reg the sled , there tough here.So as long as vermont works with me I'm happy.

Thanks, maybe I'll take a ride to Vermont and see what I can DO.

you dont need to go to VT, look on VTVAST.org and there will be a list of dealers who can register it...I did mine in CT.

VAST has nothing to do with the registration, that can only be done through the state of Vermont.
VAST can only issue your TMA.
You will need a bill of sale and have to pay the tax (unless you can prove you paid it elsewhere) to register your sled in Vermont.

This is a good web sight to look at.

the vast website has a list of dealer who can register the sled....not vast itself...never said anything about a TMA

Yes,there are certain places (dealerships etc.,who sell TMA's,that are also registration "outlets" (for snowmobiles) where you can Reg. your sled without having to go to the DMV.

All you really need is a "bill of sale"(depending on how NEW it is,new sleds have titles now) but a signed past reg. would be helpful also.

if it is a 2005 or newer you will have to have a title. :banghead:
