Rob, A friend of mine is looking at a 1997 Polaris Ultra 700 SPX SE with 3500 Miles on it. Since you rode Poo for alot of years I figured I would ask you what you thought of this sled. The good the bad and the ugly. I dont know anything about them.
Thanks
Vince

Heavy, slow off the line, good topend, poor economy. Feels dated as compared to today's lighter more responsive twins. Probably why Polaris dropped the 'aggresive' chassis.

If he's looking for a performance trail sled, tell him to look elsewhere. If he's looking for a good sled to modify to make it fast on the lakes and wide open type trails, it's a good sled. Best headlights and gauges ever put on a sled.

That sled will haul butt with a set of triple pipes on it, I had a 96 with dynoport triples and it was like a totally different sled. Watch out for chain cases, I went through three.

I had one of these, the worst thing wil be the xtra10 susp and it's weight
the clutching wasn't great from the factory and jetting was fat, which can be changed easily,,,if the price is right go for it less than 2 grandand you have a sled which will peg the speedo
