I have a MXZ 600 that is stock. My brother just bought a 1997 Polaris XC600. I need to know How to make sure mine is faster. Any help would be great :frech32:

Never open it up when you race him and then you can always assume it would be faster if you did. That is definitely the cheap and safe way of doing it!

Try a clutch kit I just put one on my sled also put in vforce3 reeds and spacers this season. Last year I put on a dynoport single pipe and can. All these mods should make around 118 hp. A port job would give you another 8 to 10 hp. :beerchug:

bang for the buck, clutching and possible gear changes are a must!!!! of course, any above mentioned mods will add power too, but your buget is the question. keep posting, we'll get her rocking!! :beerchug:

I have added reed valves also a MBRP silencer. I was looking at the gears. currently they are Small Sprocket Number Of Teeth 24
Large Sprocket Number Of Teeth 43 Also would like to update clutch but are not sure what would be the correct product.
Thanks for help so far ylsuper.gif

drop your top gear to 23 ylsuper.gif

my useless info: 24/43=1.79 ratio
23/43=1.87 ratio

my usefull info: 23/43=1.87 ratio makes a huge performance gain!! :beerchug:
also it uses the same chain pitch buttrock.gif

hmmm, the no hassles approach would be a kit, epi, dyno port, and a few others are very respectfull contenders. or, find someone with some knowledge and get their opinions on what helix, springs, and weights to use. make sure everything is tuned perfect. carbs, track tension, and clutching.....

Well, I had the chance to go snowmobiling with my brother who has a Polaris 600 triple I have done all the work listed above. I was bare A@# spanked by by it. I am looking to trade for a 700/800 Ski-Doo. Any more ideas.

Thanks Wow1.gif

just to confirm, do you want to be top end faster, or quicker????

what is your goal for reaching top end speed, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 or 1 mile, or more.

GET A CLUTCH KIT!!!!!

How is your sled launching off the line???

those xlt triples were dogs....I used to beat them with my 440 prowler, so you need to get that mxz tuned....get the clutching done pronto, and go smoke him.....he must not be stock if he's killing you that bad.....

It is a 97 or 98 XC 600 triple, the last year of the triple in that machine. I am not sure what has been done to it, He bought it that way. I am not even beating him out of the hole.I would like to beat in in about a 1/2 mile or so. I am looking for more of a hole shot. I have a friend who has a XLT I can beat him easy. My brother has a freind who is great working on a Polaris. I am looking at a EPI clutch kit #TPSD-29. I cant believe his polaris is that fast/quick.I will be working on the clutch this weekend. Thanks

good luck...make sure everything else it's to spec too with carbs, track tension and things like that....do you spin when you hammer it?

for a clutch setup try straightline performance-talk to jason-he set me up with a great set of weights and springs for my 600 ho. it pulls hard and by adjusting the clickers you can dial it in were you want it. remember if you drop your top gear your going to loose on the top. 24/43 is not a bad set of gears.make sure your valves are clean and working and that your taching were you make the power (i think you should be @ 8000 rpms)
