Hey all. I've gone back in the QC forum and have seen countless posts on this, so sorry in advance!

We are looking at doing a trip this year from Ottawa. Looking at 4 full days of sledding (probably a Thursday to Sunday) and would like to do around 200 miles a day, maybe a bit more...ideally no more than 1000 miles or so for the entire 4 days.

Can anyone provide me with a good route for the region? We'd like to start at a hotel where our trailers and vehicles will be safe and secure, as we are planning on saddle-bagging.

I've looked through the old posts, but it's hard to figure out where to start and what areas to avoid unless I ask that specifically.

Another idea was to head to Shawinigan, park at Bernard's and head out from there, as I've heard so many good things about him. We are most likely looking at February or early March for this trip.

Big question - is the riding in the Saguenay that much superior to other areas? Most of my riding in Quebec is in the western region, so I have little knowledge of the trail systems or areas to avoid. Would like low traffic areas if possible too.

Thanks!

You won't be disappointed in the LSJ region. Great trails, good signage, beautiful sights, excellent grooming and light traffic. That's what we found last Jan. We'll be bagging up to there from Shawinigan this Jan.
