poor farmer/logger
Hi Everybody, just thought I'd throw this out here. Watch out for V Ditches in the fields this year. Due to the real wet conditions there's lots of them out there. Lots in spots that you might not thin there'd be one either like on top of a hill or side hill.

Just something to think about when your going threw a unknown field at high speeds.

Hi Guys, I'm actually a little ways east of pa. They've got more snow then we do I think. I imagine P.A. is around 8" or 10" total now. I don't know how much they got out of our great big so called winter storm. We ended up with a whole 3 or 4 inches out of it. Maybe not even that much. It's hard to tell because it's drifted around so much. I think I might fuel up today and give it a try though. I was out on Wed. for a little bit but there really wasn't enough snow. It was crusted hard though so you didn't hit bottom at all. I managed to find a snow drift off of a summer fallow field that I could play on so it put a smile on my face for a little bit.

It's funny this year, the south has more snow so far then the north. That's not something you see every year. I don't know what it's like up around lower fishing lake and that area. They usually get pretty good snow fall this time of the year. Most years there's pretty good riding up there by christmas from what I hear.

Was down to humboldt last Sat for my sisters 40th birthday party, and at that time you guys had twice as much snow as we did. Twice as much ice on the gravel roads too.

Got maybe 2 inches in saskatoon last night. Up north around Weyakwin I hear they got a lots, enough to make them consider plowing the roads. Can't wait tell christmass when I can get home to P.A. and go snowmobiling. ZR is all torn apart and awaiting for new parts to come in (a wrist pin broke and screwed everything up). It's nice to see it's getting really cold out now, should make the lakes freeze good. Only problem is that it's supposed to be -36 with the wind chill tomorrow and im going to the Husky game...it's going to be a kick-ass game though.

My neighbor has a cabin at Weyakwin and said they have a ton of snow there already. Candle is supposed to have some, but not as much. Did you hear that the Ship's Lantern hotel at Candle burnt down? Pretty crazy!!

I was called out to Griffiths stadium today to help fix a problem they were having. The Rouge were out practicing, so I went and watched for a few minutes. It was MAJOR cold with the wind, so you had better bundle up. I was at Grey Cup last weekend and it was tropical compared to today.

Some of this :drunk: might help too!!

When did this happen and how????

I believe it was yesterday morning. From what I remember hearing on the news they were blaming it on a cloths dryer.

Yup you better dress up warm. Sounds like it's going to be a cold one. I'm not much into foot ball but it sounds like it's going to be quit the party if nothing else. :beerchug:

Too bad about your ZR. Hopefully you get it fixed up before the snow really starts to fly.

I went out today and put on about 8 miles. Had to go and see what everything was like. There's only about 4" of snow on average in the fields though. Below the fresh snow it's crusted pretty hard though so it's not like your driving on the ground all the time.

So did ya manage to stay warm at the big game on Sat.? I ended up down at Saskatoon that day too. Not for the game though. Decided to go out ot PBR and see what they had for sale. They had a big grader that I was eyeing up but it went up to high. It wasn't to bad standing around outside there at all.

Got about 5 or 6 inches here since yesterday. I was out tonight and I'm pretty well good to go now. It's pretty nice out there now. Managed to find a few nice snow drifts to play in too.

I stayed pretty warm actually, even though my gloves fell through the seats right at the start of the game lol. Too bad the huskies lost but oh well, they still had an awesome season.

Check out the link below, they just updated the webpage today and they say they have 18 inches of new snow in the last 2 weeks and it's still coming down!!! Screw writing finals, i just want to go sleddin'!

Say Ryan, I'm from Humboldt and I didn't get invited to your sisters 40th? Whats her name? I was @ another 40th party on Saturday night west of Humboldt @ Carmel...
poor farmer/logger
Good to hear. Yeah it was to bad that the huskies didn't win but like you said they still had a good season.

Haven't been out yet this morning but looks like another 2 or 3 inches on top of what dad had snow plowed yesterday.

Dafoose, I sent you a email.

Kind of makes it pointless going to Candle now, eh? What was most amazing to me is how quickly the whole thing was consumed. I guess business will boom at the new golf course and at the place next to C&S, Ron's is it? The best mushroom burgers even can be had there in the restaurant.

This is amazing so far. Ridable snow in November and it would be even better after the past couple of days. I'd still be concerned about the ice in most places, but it's a bugger still being with out an engine. It is a good point about the ditches in the fields. Right around P. A. and north I haven't seen any from the road, but we didn't get as much rain as east, towards Melfort.

I was trying to think...It is the only hotel motel etc in that area. that would realy hurt the tourism for Candle?

There are rental cabins at other places around Candle, including the golf course. The Ships Lantern only had six hotel rooms. The rental cabins next to the hotel escaped significant damage.

They said on the news that the owner was going to add up all the damages and go from there. So it sounded like he may rebuild again.

I've never actually been in the ships lantern before. Been buy it a few times but never in the doors at all.

St. Brieux threw Humboldt really got it this year and last. There's ditches in the fields everywhere you look. My sister said that going back just a little over the year they've had 40 inches of rain. Melforts got quit a few ditches too. I'm halfway between Melfort and P.A. and we're not to bad. There's a few ditches in the fields though.

I could see the guy building more rental cabins on the site. The bar business in a vacation community can be a real tough business. I've heard lots of stories about how tough it has been for that business for many years, so I just hope he had good insurance and it's good news no one was hurt.

aside of the washouts, being a farmer myself i know alot of guys around us have crops out in the field still. Would be much appreciated if people wouldnt drive through fields that havent been harvested yet, yes they may be blown full of powder but keep in mind u are trampling over our money.. thanx
