Yea I will definetly give you a heads up to what the conditions are.

Is there know one from Idaho in this Forum that could give us a report to how things look now?

pretty slim on the snow right now. Only about a foot here and not much more than that in Island park. Head up high might run into more. Sounds like its gonna snow all next week so it might improve.

We have 1-2 ft in the valley 6,200 ft and 4-5 ft around the ridges. I was riding 3ft of sugar pow 3 days after Thanksgiving. We will have 1 storm before Christmas and 1 more right after. Never can tell what the future will bring but it can dump by the ft quickly. By mid Jan. we will be deep everywhere.

Where did u do most of your riding? Sounds like it's getting pretty deep out there. Hopefully you all came home in one piece. Two avalanche deaths there this past weekend. trau14.gif We leave for Island Park in two weeks.

Our cabin was actually about 20 miles SW of Island Park. However we rode to IP everyday in order to get gas. The one day we rode to Mesa Falls, and you can find a lot of good snow off the trail on the way there. The other days we rode mainly to the SW of IP. The last day we headed towards some Mountain that is to the SW of IP and we found a lot of good snow off trail there also. There were a lot of times that many of the fields directly off the trail were beat pretty good, but it didn't seem like many ventured very far off trail. There is still a lot of good riding if your willing to go a little bit further off the trail. By the time we left the snow was starting to set up on top which made for some rough riding in the open, it was still good in the woods. We didn't ride in any of the high risk areas for avalanches. Those areas were further north of IP. Overall the sledding was great, and in many spots there was snow up to my hips and i'm 6'7" tall. I will try to get some pics from some of the others, maybe some video and get it posted.

I've been watching the weather down there on a daily basis and it's been snowing almost everyday for the last 2-3 weeks. How are things shaping up down there guys? I'm planning to come out on March 3rd just like last year. I'll be staying at Ponds.
