Hi all, I'm looking at a 2-up machine with about 5000 miles, w/reverse. Owner says chaincase exploded so he just put a standard one on. Has there been an update to this design to fix this or was it just a fluk ? Anyone know anything about these sleds and what yrs I could get replacement parts from. It doesn't have elec start either, which I'd be looking to add.

Thanks

If he put a standard chain case on it, it doesn’t have reverse anymore, right. The chain probable broke from lack of maintenance and took out the chain case. I would think most parts are still available for this sled, but I got to ask, are you planning on putting on both reverse and electric start. That would be a bunch of money, don’t think it would be worth it. I bet you could find something a bit newer with less miles for about the same price with the add ons.
Keep looking.

Owner has service manual & assures me it was seviced every year by dealer he bought it from. The rev lever is gone, but other than that, i dont know the difference between the 2 cases...what they would look like. I see elec start is very pricey. don't really need it i guess.

You said the chain case exploded so he just put a standard one on, which means you would need a whole reverse kit. I can’t see it being worth it on an older sled. If the price is right and the rest of the sled is in good shape buy it and enjoy it the way it is. :div20:
