Trying to find out if yamaha has tunnell protectors for the Phazer and are they necessary? Never studded without them before. Any response would be much appreciated.

Yamaha will not have them available this season, but YES they are necessary! Under complete bottoming out of the suspension the studs will hit the rear portion of the tunnel. Do a search on www.ty4stroke.com in the Phazer section and you will find some information.
